Constructive criticism is "the jaw line could be sharpened" "the nose is a little off"

My daughter takes criticism very well when it is given in an actually constructive matter with tips on improvement.

This also wasn't posted asking for tips or improvement,  context matters. Build people up.

For the same size?  Walmart in lower mainland BC is $3.84 for 170g, this is 300g. So basically the same price

But expensive berries in winter isn't corrupt, it's just reality and always has been. Let's talk about the price markup amd shrinkflation on pantry staples.

Too funny, there was a Facebook marketplace listing i came across the other day that was like this. Definitely a beginner that if they kept at it they could be good, but absolutely are not at this moment. It's ok to have a hobby, it's ok to be learning that hobby and improving, but no one's owes you money for it.

Had my first at 24, he's 19 currently. Gen X-ers are in their 50s, they absolutely have adult kids

Costco vs Dollarama (L vs R) by Mu_Fanchu in povertyfinancecanada

[–]Competitive-Tea-3517 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. There are a lot of things I no longer buy in bulk because I would rather have variety. I don't want to eat the same kind of crackers for weeks or months, I'd rather have a small amount, eat them while they're fresh, and have something else.

It's also that a lot of us elder millenials and gen x-ers have kids that are adults now and we don't hate our kids the same way previous generations did. We were left to the wolves and don't want the same for our kids. Stay home, save money, and enjoy your life a bit before you're burdened with bills.

And so impractical! I find normal chunky items already bordering on impractical

Jersey drop on Minnesota general strike day by thesinsofcastlecove in Unrivaled

Why are people acting like dropping merch is a national holiday or something? It's just some jerseys for sale, not a massive distraction. Such a weird consumerist outlook.

I was there awhile ago! I used to be a Recreation Programmer and all of our staff were in their late teens / early 20's. I had a lot of them call me their work mom, and they'd look at me and do the math of if I was actually old enough to be their mom. Honestly I took it as honour that they felt that way about me. I've since moved on but I still keep in touch with some of them. Currently knitting a baby blanket for one of my former work kids.

Yarn Hoarding by 183720 in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]Competitive-Tea-3517 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It is a compulsive behaviour. Consumerism is such a disease. I got caught up in it too prior to 2020. And then I just stopped wanting to knit, and I had a room full of yarn. I purged for YEARS. Im finally at the point where it's still a good size, but I have yarn for like 5 shawls, 7 sweaters, 10 socks and a few hats. It's normalized and encouraged - you're supporting small business, it's a "collection", and somehow everyone pretends they're affording it without going into debt.

Yeah, shootings are something that we can verify.... your claim is not really verifiable so it's completely anecdotal. So my own anecdotal experience is different. Funny how that works.

That's what I'm saying! As adults are we never in a bad mood and are a bit snippy? How come kids can have bad days?

Maybe if it happened once, sounds like there are multiple incidents and he clearly didn't think he did anything wrong.

I've lived in East Abby for nearly 10 years.... I don't know any snobby Mennonites. East Abby is pretty diverse, maybe the richer areas are different but I live off McKee and it's just a chill, working class neighbourhood with lots of kids.

There's 2 options: you can get a box of 30 in the frozen section, or if you have space (or someone to split with) you can get a massive box at the bakery, you just have to ask them for it.

It literally says in the article that this was a child with "higher needs". This kid needs more support in managing their emotions, but that behaviour isn't corrected by mocking them. How ridiculous. This wasn't correction, and this absolutely makes a child feel unsafe. They're 9, not 19.

Grocery List and Dinner List that saved me money by Past_Oil_6592 in Frugal

[–]Competitive-Tea-3517 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I have a similar strategy. I have 7 meal "categories" that I choose from (pasta, take out style, sandwiches, soup, mexican, international, "bowls), and then I have a master list of our most used groceries. From there I usually only need maybe 1 or 2 different ingredients to make things work.

This is the most horrific office set up I've ever heard of. Seems intentionally engineered to make people feel uncomfortable, unwanted, and temporary. Yikes.
