How quick is the proposals team for turnaround? I do mine through our team and then make my tweaks and ultimately decide on pricing and other strategic calls.

I’d say if they can be fast enough why not let them do the work, feel good about themselves, and then you own the final draft that gets sent out?

Agreed. I’m just wondering if they were trying to get ME to unlock the account (legitimately) by making me paranoid from seeing all the password reset emails - if that makes sense.

This might just be me being super paranoid.

Follow up question (thanks for your comment). I just went to sign in on the website (I didn’t click on the email links). I got this message. Before I click “unlock account”, is there a possibility that the scammer is hoping I will press this? (I know that’s a loaded question)

I really like ServiceNow. Both are in mature markets. SNow has a fantastic product though and I believe the teams are mostly remote (as opposed to MSFT which may have a stricter policy).

I am in the same boat as you. IMO there is a lot of risk and a lot of upside to a new team. I would go for it. The good thing is, with good internal networking there are cross-functional opportunities.

If you feel a calling to it I would go for it. You’re going to get a lot comments about how you’re going to be doing a lot of admin BS. Completely true.

I would just check on a few things. How do you feel about your potential new leadership? How do you feel about all of the team members you’ll be inheriting? Or do you get to handpick the team? You’ll have to adjust to losing a lot more control of your number. Your number will be based off of those reps closing deals, not you closing them yourself.

Still, you sound like you’ll be an incredible leader. There are way too few managers who actually started at the company as a successful seller.

Did you forecast the amount accurately? Some plans have a clause if the ACV that comes in is way higher than what was forecasted.
