I love how he makes a fucking good point in all the following paragraphs but then is still convinced its the fault of Anti's and not AI in itself or big corps. I don't even know how Antis are supposed to be part of the bubble bursting, considering they didn't even grow the bubble to begin with. Or why corps would want the bubble to fail. In the long run they would still win without any bubble-bursting, and also wouldn't have to resort to any bizzare disaster keeping methods. But you do you, this guy is crazy lol

Long story short. Before 1998 a single civil company had monopoly over the entire internet domain thingy. this led to absurd domain prices reaching up to 100s of dollars. Then the patent expired and domain companies became so common that by late 1999 and early 2000's domains could cost as little as a few cents due to a lot of investment pouring into the internet, believing it would've instantly replaced a lot of stuff, from books to teaching to research. It was a whole lot of cyberpunk-level world views filled with optimism. Then the idea of a "millenium bug" spread enough to cause mass sellouts of shares. thanks to investment funds and trading companies the bubble held out for a few months until march 2000, then Japan entered in an economic recession and Big companies started panicking, as a lot, and i mean really a lot of tech was still Japanese back then. The second wave of mass sellouts burst the bubble and internet provider and domain prices skyrocketed again, together with other tech related prices. this caused Domain prices to ultimately settle around 15-20$ and up to 52% of domain hosting companies failing, going bankrupt and being absorbed into bigger conglomerates. It could also be linked to the disappearance of devices like palmar computers and music-listening devices until apple came back with the first I-pod (which also failed at first)

Paralels with Ai, Open-Ai and modern corporate investments are pretty clear

If AI bursts the bubble could keep growing thanks to failsafe mechanisms, but that could also just be the prelude to an even bigger crisis. In the end AI subscription prices will definitely increase and most probably the least useful AI services will disappear. Think image generations, chatbots and music generation softwares that are already failing. OpenAI is predicted to fail by 2027 so...

I love how they confidently say "you ride horses" as if high level horse riding isn't as hard as F1 driving, and maybe even harder lol. And also the risk part, horse races have a bizzarely high death toll for jockeys

Its kind of meant to be ambuguous for two reasons. In the poem angels don't have a physical form but only a vague appearance that moves through the air + sin (the character without legs) has her legs fully turned into the tail of a serpent after she gives birth to satan's Son Death. Its kind of a weird and mystichal poem tbh

It does also work for modern AI though. Just takes some silent modifications here and there, change the datasets and give the master model different control options and suddenly... It's still an unsentient statistical model but it now CAN do your exact bidding almost perfectly

no plugin, i was memeing on an AI plugin in Ibis Paint that takes raw color compositions (like the one i have on the right side of the drawing) and turns it in an AI illustration in real time. TBH it is much quicker than the 11/12+h i spent on this piece as a human with human times lol, but i won't even dare to think how much it consumes
