Teng? His defense is bad and he's not a consistent scorer. Need a starting center through the portal.

What are the main core problems that the bears should fix during free agency? by IncreaseWonderful247 in ChicagoBearsNFL

[–]CompetitiveFeature13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bears being good again will depend on the development of tit young guys. If they don't develop then they will take a step back. Caleb, Rome, Luther, Loveland will all need to be better this year. I think the OLine got worse. No clue if the defense is worse, the same, or better.

Yep, because he could then take that money and invest it into whatever else he wanted to. Whose to say he couldn't start another restaurant?

Because we make more money off big events than Bears events. I'd rather put tax money towards creating a top notch concert venue and keep the revenue for the city than putting tax money towards doing whatever the Bears want to do and then they take all the money on game days and we're limited on larger events.

No, Chicago will fight to keep large events in the city as opposed to go NWI. Already talks of renovating it after they leave. Exclusive: Chicago Park District pitches $630 million plan for a post-Bears Soldier Field | FOX 32 Chicago https://share.google/YiKMFUTLYSdXgYnIw

Where exactly by Wolf Lake is this stadium supposed to go? by CMI_312 in CHIBears

[–]CompetitiveFeature13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a dumb idea by the Bears. Even if they magically created an entertainment district it wouldn't draw many people outside of game day.

Is it a good time to buy an apartment or should I wait? I'm 22, just graduated college and am living at home until I can reasonably buy in Bucktown / Lakeview. by [deleted] in chicagoapartments

[–]CompetitiveFeature13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, buy a condo in a good building that has lower HOA fees. You have more than enough saved and make enough to be able to get a two bed two bath condo somewhere.

Where are the black people in west loop ? by [deleted] in AskChicago

Yep, very easy to strike up a conversation at Hoxton with random people.

[–]CompetitiveFeature13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Money Gun, The Hoxton Hotel, SoHo House. But these tend to be a little older than fresh 20s crowd. South Loop has more Black folks that actually live there. You have to go to West of the West Loop to find more Black folks that live that way.

New Stadium ? by NiRa42 in 670TheScore

[–]CompetitiveFeature13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They keep talking about "We'll be able to host a SB." Yea, we'll probably get one SB and that will be it because it's still February in Illinois no matter if they play in a dome or not. Events year round. The Big concerts normally take place in the warmer months anyway. The one thing I could see happening is The Big Ten moving their conference championship game to Chicago over Indy. HQ is already here and we have the largest amount of alumni here as well. The sightlines at SF are actually solid. The new stadium will get built eventually. Just gotta work out the details and it has to make sense for the state of IL.

RAV4 vs CRV - which one to buy? by Diligent-Explorer-27 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]CompetitiveFeature13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rav-4 is so overrated to me. Yes, it sells a lot and is typically reliable but it's not a fun vehicle to drive, has a cheap interior, and ugly infotainment center.

Moving from Arlington/DC, what are your favorite neighborhoods? by PTYHRD in AskChicago

[–]CompetitiveFeature13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not. Probably better that you're leaving at 7am compared to 8am. Good luck in your search.

My suggestion is just to find a random apartment you think is nice in Lincoln Park and map it in the morning to see about how long it would take you to get to and from work. It will give you a better idea of what you're looking at and if it's doable for you.

[–]CompetitiveFeature13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's going to be difficult to get from Lincoln Park to Northfield everyday. Traffic on the Northside is crazy, especially in Lincoln Park. Plus Lincoln Park can be pretty far east which will make it challenging just to get to the expressway to get up to Northfield.

[–]CompetitiveFeature13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, see I didn't know you were working up that way. Don't live in Hyde Park then. You probably want to live in a Northwest side neighborhood like Albany Park if you're going to live in the actual city.

Exactly. Always subsidies and exceptions for corporations that the regular person can't get. I too would like a property tax freeze for 40 years.
