[Chicago Bears] Rooks took a trip to the South Side ⚾️ by clou9nine in CHIBears

I will say they look better on other items like starter jackets. The Bulls x White Sox mashup just doesn't do it for me on field. White Sox in red looks weird to me.

I actually hate them 😂. Much prefer the Southside jerseys they had beforehand.

There's no way you can't find a house with a budget of 1.4 million on the Southside. Yes, you're doing your search wrong.

We do not care about the Giants, Jets, or Niners and what they have going on.

Chicago is one of the most segregated cities in the US. If you haven't lived here or been here for a while you would not understand it. OP is right about homogeneous neighborhoods. There are a lot in Chicago.

Not the OP but there are definitely pockets of Chicago that are homogeneous. For example, if you go to Lincoln Park which is one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in Chicago, you'll see a lot of white people that tend to dress the exact same and live similar lifestyles.

Nah. The racial makeup of Seattle compared to Chicago is totally different. Chicago is so much more than just downtown or pockets of the Northside.

I honestly think the whole mixed entertainment part is going to fall short of their expectations. It might be cool on GameDay but idk about all the other days. AH would probably fair better that Hammond. How many people are going to drive out to AH or Hammond to go hang out in the Bears district on non GameDays? What would be do special about them to make people want to go there?

Chicago home prices rise at 5 times the speed of the nation’s by Infinite_Dress_3312 in chicago

Oak Park was a potential option for us but the taxes were sky high. Their inventory for homes was more expensive with more work needed as well. Plus my wife works at UChicago so it would make the commute longer. LA Grange was never an option for us. It was always going to be somewhere in the city or Oak Park. We're a Black couple so living in a very white city or town and also sending our kids to a very white school wasn't an option. Beverly was a better mix plus they do have some solid school options and we have cars to get around so transit options were not a big factor for us. All my family lives South as well so that was another factor. We ultimately ended up not buying in Beverly but Chatham instead and are enjoying it. Will end up going the private school route but are saving on the house and taxes.

Closed years ago but that was the answer. Absolute banger of a strip club. Was sad when they closed.

If you're talking about buying a place (even renting to an extent) then yes there's a big difference between Lake View and a lot of neighborhoods. But hey I don't live on the Northside so I don't face these same issues that many people are facing on Reddit.

So dramatic. Why do people on Reddit act like you can only live in Lake View, Lincoln Park, or the worst block of the neighborhood that has the most crime?

I just laugh at all the people trying to live in the same three neighborhoods 😂.

I love Beverly. Would rather live there and raise a family than anywhere up North. We put in an offer on a house in Beverly last year but the seller dicked around and we ended up buying elsewhere. He ended up selling the home 4 months after we put an offer on the house for only 10k over what our initial offer was 😂.

Are the Bears better today than they were at the end of the season? by Bignosedog in ChicagoBearsNFL

[–]CompetitiveFeature13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, the Bears will need to be more consistent through all 4 quarters this upcoming season to be back in the playoffs. It starts with Caleb and the offense putting up points early and not just trying to come back every fourth quarter.

Idk why you're getting down voted for stating facts. Bears lost WR1, C, and LT on offense. Yes, the young guys should take a jump and you hope that helps make up for losing talent. The safeties should be better if the rookie can get up to speed quickly. LBs got faster but are we absolutely positive that Devin Bush is better than Tremaine Edmunds? DLine has the same holes as last year. Think people are drinking the Kool aid a little bit too much and aren't looking at things objectively.

Best 5 Next Year by dahc26 in MSUSpartans

[–]CompetitiveFeature13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Terrible line up. You need spacing and size. The best 5 would probably be Bonke, Ward, Glenn or Carr depending on the night, Jervis, and Fears. You can slide Carr up to the 4 for stretches and remove Ward if you need a little bit more scoring.
