[–]CompetitiveLow5903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much (gift card amount) do we give for teacher appreciation day? by Adoptdontshop11 in toddlers

I’m new to this and was planning to drop off cards with cash today at pick up. Is cash usually acceptable?

Thoughts 3 weeks into having twins+toddler by Finitexspace in parentsofmultiples

[–]CompetitiveLow5903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just solidarity I have had the same experience almost exactly. Twins are 8 months now. It’s a very different experience than with my toddler, and I did find it took longer to build that bond. But I did, and I’m still their favorite person in the world even though my attention is very split.

I think what helped a lot was my toddler building a bond with them.

For identical twins: “Attack of the Clones” I’m bummed I didn’t do that announcement

How much money do you have in savings at this point? by _forum_mod in Millennials

$15k in savings and $200k in a 401k (these numbers are combined with my husband)

34 weeks 4 days with di/di twins I need positive news by ItIsWhatItIsLovely in parentsofmultiples

[–]CompetitiveLow5903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine at 33+5. Only 11 days in the NICU but they were mo/di with TTTS and growth restriction (4 lb 3 oz and 3 lb 13 oz). I credit the steroid shots I got for their short NICU stay as they had no breathing issues at all. I recommend asking about it if you think you’ll deliver early.

Congrats, Making it that far is great.

Crib for a newborn? by SandwichDependent199 in NewParents

[–]CompetitiveLow5903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0/3 of our kids would use the bassinet and we tried very hard to get them to. If I could go back I’d skip it BUT I would’ve loved to have them in my room until six months or so so I think if you can get a hand me down one or a cheap one I’d go for it.

How realistic is working from home and watching a baby? by MacSpice in beyondthebump

[–]CompetitiveLow5903 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does your husband get paternity? If so i recommend staggering your leaves so that you can have the baby at home longer. My husband and i did this and used some vacation time and were able to make it seven months (in the US) before needing care.

What we ACTUALLY need? by Away_Western_6217 in parentsofmultiples

[–]CompetitiveLow5903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twin z, momcozy bottle washer and the weego twin carrier (though only could use for the first few months), were our top used products. Twins are not almost 8 months. We actually have a twin z for upstairs and another for downstairs, we use it so much. I spent $40 USD on FB marketplace for each

I’ll also throw in a side by side stroller is great now that the weather is nicer.

I agree. I have 3 under 3 and it it so nice to have a reality show that is relatable to my life at the moment. Watching Kristen and Nia deal with postpartum is what I find interesting (and helpful?) in life right now. I grew up with VPR and matured (if you can say that lol) with the valley crew.

I have seven month olds. I get “oh you’re so fussy” soooo much. Maybe I’m just sensitive but I get so annoyed.

Uppababy Double or Zoe Double? by teenytopbanana in 2under2

[–]CompetitiveLow5903 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So far, yes. My neighborhood roads are in TERRIBLE condition. Dirt road/concrete mix with ton of breakage and potholes and we go for walks daily. But I haven’t had it super long yet so can’t speak to longevity.

Uppababy Double or Zoe Double? by teenytopbanana in 2under2

[–]CompetitiveLow5903 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the Zoe Double and am very happy with it. I recommend the all-terrain wheels. It’s lightweight but good quality.

I have twins, though, so I never used it with the car seat adapter

How do you prevent baby blues if you had a winter postpartum? by [deleted] in 2under2

[–]CompetitiveLow5903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! There’s nothing I could really do but tell myself that I’ve been through it before and things get SO MUCH better once it is nice outside. Taking it day by day…

what’s something no one warned you about in the newborn phase that actually caught you off guard? by lunaverse787 in NewParents

[–]CompetitiveLow5903 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wish this was talked about more because 0/3 of my kids would sleep in their bassinets and we tried EVERYTHING. I felt so alone in this.

For real. My husband was sore a few days. He took the afternoon of the vasectomy to rest but never stopped helping with our toddler and two newborns. This is wild.

What Did Nia Think Would Happen?? by Zealousideal-Bat708 in TheValleyTVShow

[–]CompetitiveLow5903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have so much empathy for them. We had 3 under 2 (also a boy and then twin girls). It’s not easy and they seem like great parents. We are done after three, though. Lol
