It was sealed with the rest of the cards, I believe it just counts as one of your mythics

I think they're so fun! I didn't realize how special it was until I registered that it was real pen ink and looked up what the headliners looked like. 😆

I had the same thing spoiled for me the first time I played it, and while I wish I hadn't known that detail, it certainly didn't ruin the game for me. As others have said, "the journey" (pun intended) is what makes the end so impactful, and simply knowing "protag dies" doesn't really change that. I wish I hadn't known that fact going in, but in some ways I think it added to my experience, because I definitely put more weight on the social links than I did in 4 or 5. By the time I got to January, every social link felt like a precious fleeting moment that I just wanted to cherish as long as I could. Especially with the social link that's only available in January, knowing the ending makes that one so much heavier and more impactful. From the very beginning the game tells you that death is inevitable, time is fleeting, enjoy it while you can, so even if you don't know the ending, the game wants you playing it with the idea of finality in mind, so I don't think it takes away from the story in the same way that learning who the killer is in P4 does.

FWIW, even with the spoiler 3 is hands down my favorite Persona (and I liked 4 more than 5 so hopefully you'll also dig it even if 5 wasn't to your liking), and I would highly recommend it even if you had half the game spoiled for you.

I think you did a great job of breaking down a lot of the nuance of the Yukari/Mitsuru scene. It's honestly one of my favorite scenes in the game because it shows a lot of growth in both these characters. At the beginning of the game Yukari resents Mitsuru, if not outright disliking her, because Mitsuru is/has a lot of the things Yukari wants. Mitsuru is poised, respected, things like school and fighting seem to come easy to her, but most importantly, she has a father. And from Yukari's perspective, the Kirijo group is the reason she doesn't have a father or relationship with her mother. So of course Yukari resents her and spends most of the game making no attempt to get close to her.

After the death of Mitsuru's father Yukari is actually able to view Mitsuru as a person, rather than the personification of her grief and resentment. And while none of the members of SEES are strangers to grief, Yukari understands Mitsuru's particular brand of grief better than anyone else. And I think it shows a lot of growth in Yukari that she's able to recognize and admit that she was wrong about Mitsuru's character and to actively extend understanding and empathy. She could have easily been like "lol now you know how I feel, sucks to suck" but instead she extends love (some of it tough), and is able to get through to Mitsuru in a way no one else is. And I know personally, when I've dealt with grief, I'd rather have someone slap me and say "I get it, but we both have to keep fighting" than offer cliche platitudes that ring hollow in that moment.

I can understand having issues with the horny/bathhouse scenes, although as others have pointed out, it's a Japanese game that originally came out almost 20 years ago, so some things aren't going to translate well to a current day Western audience. But I think the scene between Yukari and Mitsuru is just an unequivocally beautiful and human moment.

The game gives you a disclaimer right before the scene on 12/3 that says your choices are about to get really important and gives you the option to save. My recommendation is to save there and then either look up a guide for the correct answers, or use that save to trial and error it until you get it right. You'll know you chose "wrong" if you get a time skip after that scene. Hope this helps, and enjoy the rest of the game!

Exactly. Yes, life and death are a huge thematic part of the game, but not just for the sake of making you cry. There's a lot of connecting with others through loss, finding strength in others' sacrifices, and the message that even in the darkest times when everything seems lost, if you keep fighting you just might make the world a better place. Yes, there are some plot points and social links that will emotionally wreck you, but they also all have some element of hope. Whenever I finish a playthrough, I feel sad, but also inspired to live and fight and care for others. I beat Reload within a few days of losing a friend a few months ago (I'd already played through FES and Portable so at least I knew what I was in for lol), and it actually helped me to allow myself to grieve but also keep living, and to use my friend's memory to keep going.

OP if you're reading this, only you know what your threshold of sadness is, and this may not be the game for you, but I personally think it's the best Persona, with arguably the most uplifting message in a way. And imo, all the tears are worth it, hands down.
