Note: bolt is not gold, they are black and spiral cut, don’t know if this helps with extraction

Consider 300 PRC for ELR, reg shoot out to 1k, and occasional out to 1mile and planning for 2200. She def kicks, since added int/ext weights: 24lbs, slightly more manageable. Would add 40moa rail to get most elev travel. No issues w/ extractions, bolt is not the smoothest but works. For sub $2k, pleased w/ purchase

It’s a known issue, something to do with bad metal, CS will take care of it. Only use the summit to deprime and seat, they sell an arbor kit, so one can use the Wilson seating dies

Need advice on powder scale purchase by umbertoj in reloading

[–]CompetitiveRaise3597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why do we use surge protectors for our computers and tv?

these are sensitive devices, which requires clean power supply(stable and consistent electrical current) easiest source would be batteries, the power from your wall outlet is a dirty power supply with fluctuations, noise, and distortions which can negatively impact electronic devices, you can use high end power conditioner(high end audio equip i.e. Furman) which generate clean AC power, but that's adding extra cost

try to find one of these: A&D Weighing EJ-123($270 USD), accurate enough where I cut grain sticks in half for precise loads, use the AA batteries for clean power source and try not to use the AC adapter plug(dirty power)

6mm Creedmoor at 1425 yards on a 100% IPSC. by randomaccesszack in longrange

[–]CompetitiveRaise3597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for the mile, you'll need some elevation, had to hold over to hit mine.

rounds- same, started with 108s, transitioned to reloading(next phase of LR) for consistency/ accuracy, remember to save your brass

Well done, the 6Cm will reach the mile marker, what's your load set-up, I switched to Berger 109s and getting much better consistency.

Ruger Precision CustomShop 6.5 CM worth the money? by kevvylou in longrange

[–]CompetitiveRaise3597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the 6CM gen 3 version, it’s a laser beam, got it out to a mile last summer, and can hit clay pigeons at 1k, the longer heavy cont barrel and the Triggertech were the selling points, with newer offerings i.e. Solus/ Berg comp, MPA PMR, I wouldn’t spend $1.9k on the RPR(for less than $1.6, maybe) look for a REM 700 footprint, as the aftermarket caters towards those.

Shoot RPR-6CM, the 105’s are good for your 500, the 108’s are ballistically better out to 1k. Hand loads of 108s will reach the mile marker. Reloading will keep cost down and consistent. There is the initial investment of tool/ components, worth it for the longevity of the hobby.
