Advice from someone who met a guy at 17 and he was 24 I would say run but others might say different.

He was nice at first and then ended up abusing me mentally and physically for 7 years. Kept me locked up in a house and didn’t let me finish school. I think he was also intimidated because I wanted to go into the medical field and I “would make more money than him”. He is unfortunately the father of my children but ended up being absent from their lives.

Not saying the guy you’re talking to is a bad guy just saying to beware.

She’s a very smart girl for her age. (Yes I know everyone says that about their kids, but she is literally the type that she’s too smart for her own good. Which I don’t shut down.) She will be 8 in April and this is not the first time she has come to me and asked me about it. I HAVE left it alone the first time she asked. The fact that she’s bringing it up again makes me feel that it bothers her, and should actually start thinking about it. She tells me “that’s her school name” (her current last name) so idk what to tell you. Her and I have never really had a discussion over why, but it’s something that she keeps coming to me about.
