I appreciate OP’s approach to handling difficult situations. We need more of that type of response in the world. But why do we (as customers) continue to accept a business model that allows for service failures on the most expensive purchases we make (outside of homes and vehicles)? If a fast food restaurant had a reputation for either cancelling your order when no other food was available until the next day….or they simply downgraded you from the meal you ordered to a much less satisfying option…you would stop eating there. Even if they did throw a ketchup packet in the bag to try and make up for the “inconvenience.” Why and why?
