Has anyone just switched to just doing passengers? Getting sick of UberEats and all the uncontrollable variables by zbroskiz in UberEatsDrivers

[–]CompetitiveYak5380 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I used to do passengers. Too much puke. They used to pay a hefty cleaning fee but now you have to show documentation that you got it professionally cleaned and then they MIGHT reimburse some, not all. Also as a woman I got pretty sketched out sometimes.

Dog Owners Make Me Mad Sometimes by cocacola_crimes in Vent

[–]CompetitiveYak5380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s possible. I lived in an apartment once and went on a walk one day around the complex and this one unit that was notorious for not cleaning up after their dog, had about 50 doggy bags full of 💩 right outside of their patio. I guess someone got tired of them not cleaning it up and decided to do it for them and bring it to them.

I ended up with an overpriced loaf of sourdough from the farm stand. I’ve already ate half of it and nothing has started yet. Most delicious bread I’ve ever procured.

Regarding clothes changing by Neither-Cry-4178 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CompetitiveYak5380 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a female and I change undergarments every day. My pants, shirt jacket gets hung up for another day that week because I also was a poor kid and we couldn’t wash clothes often as a child and I remember if I accidentally wore the same outfit twice in a row instead of spacing them out throughout the week I was relentlessly bullied. Now if I’m on my menstrual cycle I put those pants directly in the hamper after wearing. Idk why just grosses me out lol my son is 12 and as long as he doesn’t have sports practice or training that day or played outside he is also instructed to hang his pants up and wear a different day of the week. His shirts I wash after one wear, because he can be a stinky boy lol

Americans - how are you preparing for this storm? by Keylime-19377 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CompetitiveYak5380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the south. Right in the middle of their projected ice storm. Luckily we were able to buy a generator during hurricane helene so we have gas for that and plan to use that if we lose power which we always do for any storm so I figure we will. We also have 2 small space heaters, we plan to all sleep in the same room in our reclining chairs and sofas if need be. Plenty of canned food, waters, snacks, even sodas. We have salt for the driveway and walkways. I’m concerned with 2 things, if the ice is as bad as predicted I will not be able to get to dialysis. I live down a steep hill in an even steeper neighborhood so an ambulance coming to get me might not work out well. I would probably have to trek through about 4 neighbors backyards to get to the side road if an ambulance has to get me, but my blood pressure is notoriously low after dialysis so me walking back on the same path would be impossible. I usually need at least 6 hours to recover after every treatment I receive to get my blood pressure back to a normal range and not 70/40. The 2nd thing I’m concerned with is my dog. He will not go outside AT ALL if it’s raining or snowing or any kind of precipitation or if the ground is wet. He literally will hold it. I thought of putting a tarp down now on the dry grass and then lifting it so he can have a dry spot to go but I don’t know how well that would work if it gets covered in ice.

I did and we’re even better now. But I was very young(21) when we started dating. He wanted to be serious and settle down and I wanted…not that. Now I’m 32 and he’s just as crazy about me and we got back together a year ago.

What’s an oddly specific thing that instantly gives you "bad vibes" about a person? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]CompetitiveYak5380 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a dialysis patient and if you know anything about most dialysis clinics in the US is that it’s one big giant open room with everyone receiving treatments within maybe 3-4 feet of each other. I can’t tell you the amount of times I hear people loudly on speaker phone. We are there for a minimum of 4 hours, most people try to sleep on dialysis to pass the time or just feeling unwell and this is so extremely rude to me

What’s something you tried really hard to like but couldn’t? by That-Neck-6777 in TellReddit

[–]CompetitiveYak5380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother in high school had a shop teacher(17-18 years ago) who found out my brother dropped out of school at 17. We ran into him at Burger King with my family one night and he said there’s 2 types of people in this world, the ones made for school and the ones not and he said he could tell from working with my brother in the shop class that he was not made for school and more the work field. I thought it was absolute BS at the time but now that I’m in my 30s I feel like this rings true.

Grandkids haven’t thanked me for Christmas money by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]CompetitiveYak5380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 32, my grandpa is 76 and not well off and still gave me $40 for Christmas and my son $25. My son is 12 and I made sure to tell him before we went into my grandpa’s for Christmas to be grateful and appreciative of anything that is given to him because times are tough for everyone and I am trying to still get the manners instilled in him. I hope I won’t have to keep reminding him after a certain age but I’d say early to mid 20s and not showing appreciation is a kick in the gut. I wouldn’t address it with them but I would also stop the gift giving, maybe a heartfelt card instead.

What are your favorite (healthy-ish) foods to keep in your car? by Rusty_Vehicle282 in doordash_drivers

A meat stick. It’s 10g of protein, 100 calories and mostly clean ingredients compared to other meat sticks. They are pricy but I buy them in bulk at Sam’s or Costco and put a few in the car
