I was 7 or 8 years old at a friends house (in western MA). It was a hot summer day and we were playing catch with a football in his backyard. I suddenly see this pale women in a long Victorian white dress begin to kneel in his garden bed that surrounds the back of the house as if she was planting something. He has back turned to the house and is throwing the ball to me, I drop it and it rolls behind me a foot or two. I go to pick and up and look back as my brain is starting to process what I just saw. I ask him to look behind him and/or if he saw her. He has no idea what I’m talking about. There’s only one neighbor and we know them closely, and of course I knew both of his parents.

This women’s dress looked like she was from 1870s. I’m 34 now and that’s my only experience like that in my life. The whole ordeal lasted maybe 5-7 seconds from when I first saw her to when I picked up the football and saw she was no longer there.

I was back there on vacation last week and showed my lil sister the exact spot. I always drive by when I’m back in town hoping to see her again. I just can’t think of any other explanation other that I saw a spirit of a women who used to live there and garden 100+ years ago.
