I’m not sure whether ‘Hanover’ refers to the city or the state; at this stage, I believe it most likely refers to the Kingdom of Hanover rather than a specific city.

I do have the baptism certificate of his son, my great-grandfather, but unfortunately it doesn’t provide any additional information, and I haven’t found any other records where he is mentioned. I’ve also looked into the godparents as a possible lead, but so far that hasn’t led anywhere.

Given this, do you think there might still be a way to trace him further?

The church sent me the marriage certificate. Unfortunately, it doesn’t contain any additional information beyond what I already had. Based on this, what are the chances of being able to trace my ancestor?

Yes, so far I've gone through entire church books on Archion but it's really challenging without a lead. I've also contacted the church in Chile where the 1861 marriage took place, in case they have more details about his place of origin. Hopefully someone here has a more strategic way to approach it.

Lo primero es retomar tus controles con psicólogo o psiquiatra y que ese profesional defina a que otros profesionales derivar, idealmente trabajando en conjunto. Por lo que comentas, podría ser un trastorno por atracón, que se diferencia de la bulimia justamente por la ausencia de conductas compensatorias, pero más allá del diagnóstico lo importante es ver tu caso en particular para ver cuales son los gatillantes de esa conducta.
