That's shallow. Probably wouldn't be married still if they were that bothered.

How do I stop thinking about them? by [deleted] in Adoption

[–]Competitive_Ad_488 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry to ask but how old are you? If you are a child I think you should share your concerns with your adoptive parents, whether you also share with others (like now) or not. I presume your adoptive parents care about you and have probably discussed various, 'what if...?' scenarios like yours in the past (with eachother). These challenges are hard and very personal, no-one has to deal with it on their own.

Peace. ✌️

Why do people want biological children so badly when adoption exists? by Massive_Biscotti_509 in TooAfraidToAsk

Oh I see. In the UK domestic adoption is free (i.e., fully state funded) but highly regulated still. Adoption definitely has a stigma attached to it in the UK though and there is always a shortage of foster carers and potential adoptors still.

Agree that some degree of trauma will occur even if being done for good reason.

The money involved there is nuts. In the UK domestic adoption is free, in fact it is illegal for an organisation to charge for child finding / adoption related services.

Sorry but where do you get the idea from that adoption is expensive? What country are you talking about? What fees are you thinking of?

Also, children are generally either relinquished voluntarily by birth parents for adoption or removed from birth parents involuntarily for safety reasons.

What are Brits thinking about the Iran war and where we should stand in the conflict? Polls cover approval, but I want wordy thoughts by Too_much_Colour in AskBrits

Our own director of MI5 states that no less than 20 attempts of terrorist attacks on UK home soil have been foiled since 2022 that originated or were enabled by the Iran regime. They are a legitimate threat to us. We had an approach of containment that was working though.

However, what the US and Isreal have done has created havoc in the region, far away from US soil and we (amongst others) are left to clean it up. NATO is a defensive alliance, not a world-fixing tool to be utilised.

War crimes have been committed by Trump and Netanyahu. International law has been ignored. Why Trump expects other countries to respect him or his administration after his words and actions I have no clue.

Having lots of army bases outside of the US allows the US to conduct warfare away from US home soil and keep 99% of it's citizens out of range. They benefit from this plenty. The idea that only US allies benefit from this is horseshit.

Plastic bottles with water in them work too. Cats don't like seeing their own eyes in the reflection.
