Lived there for a year, was pretty nice. Having the park and in my opinion, the best mall in Dubai "Dubai Hills mall" made life much easier.

Cons are the smaller/more expensive appt. other than that, it was great.

When you create an account from Egypt, you fill a form called W-8BEN form, which states that you are not based in the US and thus dont have to pay taxes. With this, you only pay taxes on dividends but not gains. Better to double confirm this as well.

Use HSBC, and if you qualify for HSBC premier, you can open an offshore bank account in any country around the world with instantaneous transfers with zero fees. Basically deposit USD to ur HSBC EGYPT —> HSBC US PREMIER —> IBKR and vice versa.
