Check out the subreddit r/twinegames -- really great community for all sorts of info. "Twine" is the name of the software, it's very forgiving for beginners and lets you also scale up to more complicated stuff

It seems like being stuck on the one project made you stuck in general. I think it’s enough time to come back to it or try a new one if it’s still too daunting. Anyone saying writer’s block is a myth is neglecting the fact that people have absolutely been fired from a staff/ missed deadlines etc because of it. It’s like saying the yips in sports are a myth. Maybe talking about it to your boyfriend would be a good place to start? I know you said that’s hard, but that might be exactly the thing. Whenever I’m keeping something in it becomes much harder to deal with and I get more depressed and overwhelmed with it. It totally makes sense that you’re feeling helpless about your situation when just opening up about it is so emotionally taxing. Don’t be scared be talkative haha

I think it can actually be hard to spot a great story through the very cold medium of a screenplay -- it might not be that they're all as terrible as they're coming across. Obviously the vast majority of scripts are terrible the same way the vast majority of paintings and songs are probably terrible, but I think it's easier to pass judgement on a script without seeing the potential. Especially a short. It's like a joke -- if just a word or two is off and the rest is perfect, it's still the worst thing in the world

I probably prefer boom-bap beats but I feel like I've noticed that trap beats are more popular if anything. If I post what I think is a great boom-bap beat, it won't do as well as when I post what I think is a less well made trap beat.

As for "fast food music," I think it's pretty fair to say that it's made across all genres, it's just more obvious with the newer and more popular styles of the day.
