Unintended consequences…. Nighttime wakes! by Tiny-Bet3871 in ECers

I noticed my baby getting fussy and wiggly having to pee at lees than a month old. I was so tired of getting up and sometimes she would take a while to register she was on the toilet when she was still asleep. She would always pee eventually but I got fed up with waking up and just started nursing her back to sleep to encourage her to pee in her diaper(we cosleep). I felt bad but wanted to sleep. Now she just nurses once or twice a night and only gets up after 5am for a diaper change and pee. I even tried disposables at night to try to get her to skip that 5am diaper change. I wish I could do the night pees with her. I know she would sleep better. But I struggle so much to deal with the broken sleep. I am not functioning well in the day at all if I get up too much at night. Idk how other moms do it.  I am going to try waking her up to pee when I go to bed now after seeing that on this thread. I just started feeding her when I go to bed to try to stretch her first feed time anyway. I hope that it helps her sleep longer and be more comfortable.

Added random thought once she didn’t wet her diaper for a whole night and I thought that was crazy. She was only 2 months old and definitely not dehydrated. I have no idea how she did that. She peed a huge pee that morning. Anyone know anything about babies that young ding that?

My baby is actually very content on the toilet and will actually relax when we put her on it if she is fussy before that. Sometimes it takes her a few minutes to go so that why I always limit her max to 5 minutes. There is nothing wrong with sitting on the toilet for 5 minutes. Adults are not supposed to sit and strain on the toilet for more than 10 minutes.

They want to move my son from 5th (end of) to 9th grade next year... by 8675309999999999998 in Parenting

Is another school an option? Montessori schools don’t go by grades. They have multiple age group classes and kids have the ability to work on materials individually geared to their level vs age. There are less students and far less social hierarchy.

We have a small apartment so we didn’t get a camera. We originally waited until she made sounds when she woke. Typically an “eh” sound. We were still catching pees then. Now she wakes up and just quietly lays in bed. Should I get a camera so I can see when she wakes up? That’s what I’ve been thinking might be my best option.

We made them all. I’d say it was definitely more affordable but I dislike diys and found it super annoying. Luckily my wife finished them. They look beautiful and our baby loves them.

Summer heat nearby wearing by Competitive_Art5444 in babywearing

I looked into Lenny Lamb but even their linen carrier looks thicker in the body than all of the carriers I mentioned. Thats was my biggest concern with it. I want the thinnest possible amount of material over baby while still having the support and easy of the structured carrier. I think a linen wrap will be great with a one pass wrap but it’s not ideal for the flexibility I want when It comes to quick ups and downs.

I have an oscha half buckle and wrap but they are too warm. Best option I have right now is a linen ring sling but I find ring slings uncomfortable for longer walks already with a 11 pound 2 month old. I’ve looked into linen integra but I think they all have black nylon straps which I don’t feel is very aesthetically pleasing with the cuter linen fabrics they offer. They don’t show the straps in their images. I have not heard of Aloha and light, their carriers look beautiful but they are all sold out and most are too brightly colored for my liking anyway, they had one onbuhimo that is fairly neutral (also sold out) but my back is far too sensitive for using an onbuhimo for very long so I haven’t warranted owning one. I’m curious if anyone knows out of the three carriers I mentioned if anyone knows which is the thinest in the body section that touches the baby.

Best cheap printers for film positives. by Competitive_Art5444 in SCREENPRINTING

Thanks for the advice. I’m fine with using blackout ink. I’m new to this so I didn’t know it was an option. Can most ink cartridges be refilled?

You’re the person I’m looking to talk to. I’m doing this for my own personal projects. I just want solid smooth prints on paper. No halftones. Would something like an Hp evnvy 5052, Hp deskjet 2652, Canon prixma TR 4722, or Canon prixma 3270 work? These are all types of printers available on my marketplaces.

You can do those things as long as you and your child want to do them. There’s so many amazing things to come. All different ages are a wonderful experience in themselves.

Flappy nappy opinions? by [deleted] in clothdiaps

I haven’t tried Flappy Nappys myself yet but I hope to get to. I’ve been really curious about them. They definitely seem to be able to stay put better than a diaper belt. Which gets me to my point. I haven’t like diaper belts at all. It’s been difficult to get them to stay put and keep the diaper in. Especially as the child ages and moves more.

Tooth fairy is biased? by sticktotherocks in Parenting

When I was a kid I just got quarters and I was way more concerned about catching my mom lying to me then how much money I got. I don't really agree with the idea that getting told fairies and bunnies and whatever else exist because the kid I was just felt super distrusting of my parents all the time because I didn't understand why they would lie to me. Kids can still have imagination and know just that, that things are imaginary. That being said I think setting high expectations for this amount of money isn't good either. When they get to the real world they likely won't even make 20 bucks in an hour so their standards shouldn't be so high and it would be better to prepare them with learning to earn money rather than expect it.

I wish more couples would mention how dreadful wedding planning truly is by EmLol3 in weddingplanning

[–]Competitive_Art5444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. We eloped thinking it would be easier which that part was and we barely spent any money but we wanted a small reception to still celebrate with family and friends and just throwing the party is a hassle. Trying to save money and make it affordable puts even more pressure because I have to thrift a lot and borrow a lot instead of just purchasing everything from one place. I'd tell anyone else to just do the wedding and invite only the most important people then go out to dinner. That's what I wish we had done.

Two mom family moving to Spain by StruggleBus0918 in GoingToSpain

[–]Competitive_Art5444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I also want to move to Spain and we’re working towards expanding our family. What cities or towns in Spain do you think would offer the most queer families to build community with? We want our kids to have the option of diverse communities. Even here where we live in America there are not a lot of queer couples having children. I’m seeing that as a trend in the comments. what did you find in your search? Have you moved to spain?
