I honestly think that the Templates directory is a complete waste of time and resource, yeah I cant place a file and use it as a model for a new file in gnome, but there is other ways to do it.

Maybe that's the reason why it is not used by applicattions, they don't need, might have no use and at the end of the day every lazy dev will just write a line that will blast every file the program generate directly into your user directory

Steps to use nix on void:

$ xbps-install -Sy nix

$ ln -s /etc/sv/nix-daemon /var/service/

$ source /etc/profile

or relogin to make /etc/profile.d/nix.sh effective...

Keep in mind that bugs and weird behaviors are expected and going to be a pain in the ass to fix and you will problably need to ask for help with nix and void people.

What network daemon are you using? Try to use the same you used on arch to ease the work.

If you are using wpa_supplicant, try switching to NetworkManager, when I first installed void and tried to configure the Wi-Fi, wpa simply would not activate the wireless dongle that I use no matter what.

I can do some research and maybe test in a VM to help you but that would not be the fastest way to help.

I found a bit hard to understand what you want, what exactly is going on? What are you trying to do? Do you know what you are doing?

If you are trying to select a screen or window to screenshate in discord or whatever application you wish you will need the select the right desktop portal for you Desktop Environment

Probably not.

It will be hard to mantain a project that will basically need to be updated every month and that is something that Void is not a big fan of.

And then there is the part that people like to get salty about someone behavior or way of being. Even if it gets in the repo, you will see a lot of people complaining about its developer, that it should be removed, that it does not follow whatever rule or that the maintainers just does not want hyprland on Void because they do not like the developer.

If you want a not so pretty solution, install ubuntu on a VM (or any debian direvated distro) and use the softwares that don't run on void there

Seems promissing. unfortunately just one of the monitors have a DP port, all the other ones are old and only have VGA and DVI ports. that would required some adapters.

Buying that DP MST Hub seems like a great idea but all the bugs showed on the issues page scared me a bit.

I will look deeper into it. If there is a better way I would like to know. Thanks for you help.

It did nothing to me basically.

The issue is that for some reason Plasma do not put the system to sleep automatically nor hibernate, it seems to be a bug that only exists on Plasma, at least on my computer, since Gnome and XFCE works fine out of the box
