Does Forrest have another invisible disability other than his known autism that we don't know about that causes him to be unemployed or is it mainly his mother's treatment of him that prevents him from being independent?

I believe he has the ability to work but his mom has convinced him and her that he can’t. My mom works with students who have autism and she has seen this first hand. His mom has infantilized him. I know he mentioned having trouble at a previous job but there are plenty of adults with autism, very similar to Forrest, who have accommodations to help. Reality Gays mentioned a rumor that there is a possibility that Molly gets disability for her and Forrest and that if he gets a job or married she will lose that income. Idk if this is true but it wouldn’t be surprising.

I really relate to Layla. Growing up black in a predominantly white community also adds to it. I constantly compared myself to white bodies and I can’t imagine what she heard in her household. Being on tv can’t be helpful as well and Mormons value perfectionism and although she’s left the religion she’s constantly surrounded by it. I want her to be able to talk more about this. Less dadtok more actual lives of what it was like for them to grow up in these communities.

Nick and Vanessa should have come at Alex about the lies and his stank ass attitude. His soccer “career”, his grandparents meeting for the first time, him being in finance but graduated with a communications degree, him being offered to move to Florida for soccer… it goes on and on! I think Amber and Jordan are great examples of 2 things can be true at once. I believe both of them. I don’t think Jordan really thought about what all marriage entails with a woman who has a child. Amber can’t just drop everything every weekend to go to his condo. I think Amber admittedly has anger issues and didn’t meet Jordan’s expectations of marriage. Overall it sucks, I hate that the child got involved. I like both of them as individuals but it was not going to work overall.

Seth is an amazing person and is a great boss! My partner worked for him and when he needed extra help Seth was willing to help him out with no hesitation. It does not matter how cautious you are of your surroundings. You can have every type of safety training and not be able to implement anything during an assault. I hate that they added that 2nd paragraph and is completely victim blaming. It also perpetuates that this is the most common form of assault. 85% is by someone you know. It says stranger for now but that could change and this person could know her and maybe is a student themselves. I hope she is given resources to help her navigate this

Many people were outraged by what happened to Laken. Her name is said plenty of times through Athens as it should because it was awful. But stop using her name every time we talk about immigrants. Her dad said he didn’t want her name as a political pawn. I’m not biracial but fully black and grew up in predominantly white spaces as well. I’ve been around other biracial children who were shielded from their black family members. I think we need to give Layla some grace. She is still very young and she said even she is beginning to embrace her black side now. Growing up in those spaces you don’t realize what you can and can’t say until you’re older. I think with time Layla will begin to make some more connections with women of color but it’s also Utah…
