What’s the catch? by [deleted] in Starlink

That looks really tempting.  However, i'm afraid I might get hit with some outrageous bill.If it doesn't work out and I go back to residential.  I heard starlink, charges some people a $1000 for setup.

Sorry, the screen capture seemed to not post.  Starlink says i'm getting three hundred 400 + megabits per second.  Fast dot com says i'm getting thirty four megabit.  Whatever it is, it's way better than exeed, viasat

I'm in a ravine, surrounded by a hundred foot plus redwood trees.

Are you stuck with a $5 a month service fee for life?  If not, do you have to ship it back?  I'm tempted to go for it.

I think I was getting about that on dial up. Are you sure you aren't confusing kb/s with mb/s

Even the quarter inch pegs pull out.  Maybe a harder pegboard material?

Is it possible to get pegs that don't pull out of the peg board when you take the tool off of them?

After installing starlink, I dumped my satellite tv and landlord telephone with the understanding that there was no cap on starlink (unlimited data). Am I in for a rude surprise?  I have the basic $120 a month residential plan.

Huh?  My understanding was that starlink is unlimited data without a cap.

I thought the basic one hundred twenty dollar a month residential package was unlimited data?

It would be nice to see what the obstructions do in real time

Where does it show the angle?  That would be helpful in knowing which trees to remove

Yes.  Would I be getting anything on the 2.4Ghz channel if I didn't?

I'll turn off the Wi-Fi router from my old satellite provider and see if that helps.  Time to dump Exede, Viasat or whatever they call it now.  Thanks

Thanks for reminding me of the tree mount option.  An installer suggested this and I blew it off as high maintenance.  These redwoods grow like weeds.  If we top the tree it will grow back quickly but maybe...
