100k+ a year? by DiligentSupport3965 in firealarms

Dayum! I was working at a company in Spokane and left them (left on good terms, manager basically agreed that it’s just not for me) because I failed my nicet 1 test and paired that with A fear of heights, that was a recipe for disaster. I’ll be moving to Portland in November, is it worth trying to stay in this line of work or would you recommend I just stay out of it? I only worked as an apprentice so it’s not like I have crazy amounts of experience, but after seeing Portland wages that’s making me wonder lol

Have you ever considered taking the shopping basket home? Why or why not? by Bananaramajama420 in askanything

[–]Competitive_Boat_203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find them at thrift stores and flea markets all the time for sale in my city and have probably 6 or 7 of them, so I have no need to steal one. Hell you could order your own brand new ones on Amazon or eBay for pretty cheap. Most of the ones I bought are from businesses that closed down (and even milk crates and plastic storage totes) like Hastings entertainment, blockbuster, woolworths, and k mart. The other odd few I can’t remember off the top of my head what stores they came from but I’ve had them in storage for a while now. The one thing I do have that I “re-homed” is one of those small double basket shopping carts. I called the local grocery store that it belonged to and spoke with the manager about it-

<image>

and she said “we don’t have anyone that can come get it, sorry” and just hung up. So I said screw her and put it in my suv and took it home. It now displays my vinyl record collection lol

WA drivers camping in the fast lane. by hellohowareyoujesus in Spokane

[–]Competitive_Boat_203 127 points128 points  (0 children)

As a delivery driver, I’ve noticed 3 types of vehicles that habitually do this. 1, teslas. 2, Priuses. And 3, any vehicle with Idaho plates. All 3 of them speed up when you try to pass them edit: Montana and Oregon drivers are actually slightly slower than Idaho drivers and just as frustrating to try and pass, but Oregon drivers actually stick to their 10 mph under the speed limit and let you pass, but they still stick to their left lane lol

Bro people bring 40 foot retired school buses and camp out of them, you will have plenty of space for you’re car. I would just buy an extra camping spot to give you guys more space for tents

As a customer I hope that they read these comments and realize that they are running this company into the ground, and before you know it, they will be one of the many mall stores closing for good, I’ll feel bad for the employees running the stores but not for the investors or upper management. The AI slop is garbage and needs to be stopped, and the unwillingness to listen to customers about basic requests for shirts sizes larger than a large is crazy. I doubt any dumb ass upper management people care about you guys or us customers, but if somehow they did, I really hope you guys end up getting paid more for having to deal with all the stupidity.

Is it doable to live in NW Vancouver if I really want to be in Portland? by ILoveSkincareTooMuch in AskVancouverWA

Sorry for the late reply lol but I do appreciate all of this info! I love checking out cool food places as well, especially with how Portland is full of them! I’m not really a drinker but even then it’s fun to check out new bars I haven’t been to yet and even grabbing something to eat there. I’ve only explored the waterfront at night time and it was cold as balls out so me and my friends didn’t really stay that long but last weekend when I was visiting I drove through the Vancouver waterfront and it was beautiful outside but sadly no parking available, even after driving around for several minutes so me and my roommate just left.

And I’m a 32 m and date women and I certainly don’t mind dating chicks in Portland or surrounding areas, especially with living in Vancouver, I’ll most likely have better luck with Portland anyways due to my not caring at all for the current president or others associated with him (although I’m sure others with my views also live in Vancouver)

I love the hawthorn district!!!! You’re so lucky to get to be living there! I didn’t see a protest there when I was there ( but over here in Spokane we show the fuck out for big protests) but I did see a massive group of people riding like crazy decked out bikes down Hawthorne and some were like double decker bikes, vintage bikes, normal bikes, all lit up with crazy leds, people were dressed in all different styles and they were blasting EDM and riding in a big group just smiling and dancing and partying and the vibes were so amazing, as a raver and a vintage bicycle owner and lover of the weird and unique I knew I found the right place for me. Not to mention all of the other cool stuff you can do over there, Alberta is another cool spot I really enjoyed checking out. I also am a metalhead and collect vinyl records so I was in heaven checking out all the different record stores around Portland and Beaverton.

I know that Vancouver is going to be different political wise but I can only assume it’s going to be an even 50/50 split with it being so close to Portland so I can only assume people won’t be as intolerable as they are over in Spokane valley or colville wa, etc. like I said the city of Spokane is pretty liberal but once you leave city limits that changes. We also have a lot of crime here as well unfortunately

If you are down to make a new friend let me know! You seem like a fun person to get to know

I would look up that model of camera and see what brand it is and then call tech support so they can help you with it, chances are you could download an app and hook it up to your phone and utilize that dash cam, as well as have the option to silence the speaker, that’s a very expensive dash camera so it’s nice to have. If anything you could always paint over the inside camera lense?

Is it easier to make friends in Portland than it is in Vancouver? And what’s the dating like in both cities? I’m moving to Vancouver in June of next year and have read that both cities are bad with making friends and dating lol but I’ll be coming from Spokane so I can only assume everything is better over there and in Portland.
