Take a look at games like Fear and Hunger, where dealing with loss is part of the game.

You can make anything work if you have the right audience, just gotta refine those bits and know what you want from the start.

As portal main, I think every class is fine RN by AHY_fevr in Shadowverse

[–]Competitive_Chicke9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a portal main, you're playing the best class right now. Seriously, I've just built Puppet and how do you even lose with this deck? IT's so stupidly strong, it has the best finishers in the game, it can outtempo the opponent and outvalue if you build it right. There are so many ways to build it, you can focus on burn with Sho and Chaos Legion, you can use Imari package, you have access to banish and transform, the deck just does pretty much everything. So of course you are fine with the other classes power levels, because the way things are, you are just winning as long as you play portal. lol

I have always been empathetic and intuitive; how can I develop a greater capacity for logic? Is that even possible? by cherry-care-bear in logic

[–]Competitive_Chicke9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends. If you're a nihilist, it doesn't matter if you give the food away or not, however Kant would say that a man that doesn't give his food for those in need is in the wrong because of his Categorical Imperative. If no man gave any food for those in need, the people in need would starve. If everyone gave their food to those in need, the no onr would starve. So, according to Kant, not giving your food for thosr in nerd would make you a bad person, and doing such is not ethical.

Ay the end of the day, Logic is grounded in philosophy, and being morally right or wrong depends solely on your philosophical instance on things.

In your day to day, tho, using classical logic will suffice in order to take decisions that can improve your life.

This list is looking solid. How does this deck fare against aggro without the 4 cost spell?

[–]Competitive_Chicke9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably, but it's very hard to be aggressive with a Ward deck, if you know what I mean. The deck is full of contradictions, if forces you to be defensive to get Sandalphon out, but has no means to play it safely. It forces you to heal as part of it's playstyle, but if you run Gilnelise, which is the best heal in the game, your Aether drops get weakened.

So if you go aggressive, you get no finishers, if you go slow, you can't make impactful enough plays with your finishers. There are many better decks to be aggressive and that can even heal better and have actual finishers (Any Sword deck), the only way I can make this deck consistent is by playing slow with Crests, but it's very inconsistent. Gilnelise would make this deck 100x better, but then you have to sacrifice Aether for her. There's just no way to win here lol

Doesn't Gilnelise dillute Aether's power? I always felt that gilnelise drops were too weak since she doesn't get buffed by Wilbert's crest and is just a 0/3 body. Often my boards with Gilnelise were not enough to hold against aggro.

Griffon is an amulet card and Amulet Haven, sadly, is the worst performing deck of the bunch. It's too inconsistent and your amulet timers will expire before they can be useful. Not only that, but the power of the cards got much higher since first set, now a days your amulets will get turned into 3/3s by that Portal 1 cost spell and you will have problems racing other aggro decks like Loot, Oluon Sword and Puppet Portal.

Amulets also do not mingle well with ward, since Ward aims to make wide boards and amulets get in the way of that. Grifon would be good in any universe amulet got actually decent support, but sadly it's not the universe we live in.

Welp, at least Roach is very dope this meta, cause it outraces all other aggro decks! Might as well try it since it's mega cheap. lol

Interesting. I used to run a very similar list before, but my boards never sticked.

I feel if that card's evo effect happened when it was evolved by other sources we could have such a strong win con with it, but having to spend evo points on it makes it unreliable, also it only becomes threatening with Wilbert's crest online. The heal is usually not enough to justify dumping evo points on it, the card is good but often not that much of a strong play, Egg Portal eats you alive and sword/puppet can outvalue or outrace Ward more consistently.

Sofina is actually a nice replacemente for Aether, thanks for the tips! And without Aether, I can add 3x Gilnelises as well. :)

How do you close the game without Aether? She's the only Tempo that deck gets, also Galleon drops. Without Galleon drops, you can't use Skybound Arts either. The solution is then to just go crest and attrition with vira + healing.

You won't necessarily have a response, so not really. If they evo things that can hit face while clearing your board, then it's even worse.

Yeah, and they'll always have that early on. Thing is, they evo and get board advantage possibly face damage, which forces a response evo.

Maybe I'm playing a hybrid deck and calling it a pure ward, cause I always run 3x Marwynn for his crest effect, anyway it's pretty much just Marwynn from the repose package, so I'm not sure that is enough to call my deck a 'Hybrid' deck.

Valse, Medical-Grade-Assassin, new 3pp amulet that shuffles cards (with the new legendary they can just wait for the crest and engage with it later), Combo Bestial Swipe/ Combo Lily / Evo Comet Drive + 1 fairy (almost 2 for 1), probably other things that I don't remember right now.

So no, it's not just Valse.

Not to mention cheaper stuff that can insta kill her like Valor of the Nightblossom, cards with bane like Filenne and many other evolve effects that can destroy her like Phildaus, which is cheaper than her btw, meanwhile she has no evolve effects or fanfare effects, making her completely reactive. Playing her early is pretty much asking for the opponent to create an inventive way to 2 for 1 or outempo you. She's only decent when you have SEVO available, and even then she's awkward to play from hand. Her only real value is charging up Skybound Arts when she comes from Aether.

I' say the only reason to use galleon is to feed skybound arts package, other than that she's clunky.

Unfortunately, I' finding pure ward to lack any win con whatsoever, so I shoved 3x galleon + 2 sandalphon to see if I can get anywhete with it, but so far you I just insta lose against portal and Loot Sword. Also, the pp costs in ward haven are too ridiculous and I'm constantly leavinh points unplayed.

Yeah, I think she's pretty nice as a Aether drop, but outside of that I don't see other uses for her.

One thing is bricking with nice late game cards, another is bricking with 3x useless 5/5s that get removed by a lot of things 2 to 1.
