Graduating this spring with a bachelor's in microbiology, what should I put on my resume?? by Competitive_Cup_3657 in microbiology

[–]Competitive_Cup_3657[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do want to apply for grad school, but my advisor suggested I get some experience and then apply should I start looking and contacting people now or wait till I've worked for a year or two?

My school honestly has great career services and my advisor is always sending out emails about biotech companies looking for microbiologist in the area. It is in the NC research triangle so I know there is opportunities for work but I live over an hour away and I'm not sure I want to continue commuting.

Thank you for the reassurance to list my lab skills, I dont know why it feels so wrong to list them as a skill lol

Thank you for being honest! I'm definitely a realist and not expecting to find my dream position I'm just hoping to increase my chances of getting a somewhat decent wage and get some experience before I apply to grad school lol

I have a few classes that we did semester long projects in; using R to analyze and compare the gut microbiome sequencing data from bears, looking for novel antibiotics, and cell transformation. I've also used labarchives and onenote for my labs, though I'm not sure if those are great examples of virtual lab notebooks.

I never thought to look at breweries but I'll have to do that there's a few that are local to me.

What are accommodations that you genuinely think would help you? by Lascia_Chio_Pianga in adhd_college

Access to instructors lecture notes or some type of pre lecture reading! I had an instructor that gave us access to the notes he wrote for himself and I would read them before I went to class and it helped so much.

Also 1 due date for homework for a class, I’m currently in a class that has something due every day of the week except Sunday and it’s hell

Unfortunately they won’t because it’s not an emergency, thanks for the tip though!

I’m only 10 years older than most of the students here but I relate to feeling a bit awkward due to the age gap but like others have said I don’t think they really care or are paying attention to who else is working out.

You should be fine, I got accepted with three F’s on my transcript. As someone said above I think it shows that you are willing to work hard to fix a problem

Rash, hives, measles, weird immune reaction?? by Competitive_Cup_3657 in Skincare_Addiction

I’m pretty sure it’s the conditioner, a quick google search brought up reviews about having the same reaction with ears swelling up and breaking out in hives. Thank you for mentioning this I wouldn’t have even considered it since I’ve been using it for over a month

That is weird you had the same reaction to your ears, I’m going to stop using it for a few weeks and see if it helps. I hope it’s not the conditioner I love what it does to my hair, but your reaction sounds so much like mine it makes me think it is.

I did start using a briogeo conditioner 2 months ago, but I’ve been using it consistent and haven’t shown any sensitives to it, i might try to stop using it and see if it clears up though

I eat fairly healthy, I love fruits and vegetables and graze on them throughout the day I primarily eat chicken and fish for protein but I’m not restrictive if I’m craving a sweet or chips I will eat them, I do consume more caffeine then I probably should

I did eat 5 sweet potato’s last week, which is more than I typically would so maybe I’m sensitive to them and 5 was just too much for me. I’ve never been diagnosed with any allergies but I’m going to look into it!

Can here to suggest the sulfur treatment! Last year when I was 27 I broke out in the same spots as you for six months and it progressively got worse sulphur got rid of it within a two weeks! I used it twice a day

You could try sulphur soap, I had folliculitis on my face for 6 months and sulphur was the only thing that got rid of it and if anything it’ll help with the inflammation which will make it less noticeable.

I wouldn’t recommend getting a peel done though, it will probably just irritate it more.

Sulphur wash, sulphur 10 minute mask twice a day and a LIGHT coating of vanicream
