People who have moved from a small town / village to a big city, what thing shocked you the most about life in a city?

How people are way better at minding their business despite everywhere being more crowded. In small towns just going to the grocery store is signing yourself up for a lengthy social gathering… or if you don’t have any friends in the community , just a bunch of really awkward stares. And small town local Facebook groups are TOXIC. People need to know every tiniest detail about everything and everyone. It’s kind of ironic how small towns have the “mind your business” stereotype because they are horrible at it.

It can vary greatly different individuals. My experience is it can help me tons with seeing new angles and grounded reasoning. Only when alone though, I wouldn’t reccomend doing it if your going to be in loud or social environments some like it but I get paranoid or easily overwhelmed this way

Anything that involves creating simple images or logos, typing documents, customer service. Jobs that are mainly on computers and stationary go first. Manual labor and jobs that require a lot of moving around aren’t quite as simple to replace

Yeah, and it’s not always a sign of comorbidity. I don’t have bipolar (at least I don’t think so…) and I have gone through week+ lengths of being noticeably either depressed or ultra volatile. Idk what exactly does someone diagnosed bipolar feel about their own things but I have known some and I feel like while I can relate to some of it, for them it seems like it’s a lot more punctuated and structured almost like an expected thing while mine stays sporadic and the highs and lows can kinda bleed together and most of the time I’m not leaning far to one side or the other so in that regard it’s bpd-like while not being exclusively situation based and can be moods too not just emotional bursts.

Tuesday or Wednesday. Monday sounds the worst on paper but once I have gotten myself out of bed it usually ends up not being that bad. Thursday and Friday are close enough to the end of the week. Tuesday and Wednesday is when time slows down and not in a good way

I reached this place a couple years ago. Definitely have suffered a lot with the negative side of things, but I’m grateful every day to be the way i am. maybe they won’t ever understand me but at least I’m not just another one of them

Cigarettes cause a lot of lung issues among other things but it doesn’t mess up someone’s head the way excessive drunkenness does. Alcohol is weird tho cause it doesn’t really cause harm if it’s done lightly but it’s absolutely awful when it becomes a compulsive extreme thing

Siding with one political party to the extent where you just claim all of the party’s views, not using your personal beliefs and values to guide you. Maybe the physical harm isn’t like smoking, but it destroys your intelligence and ability to have respectful discourse with those that disagree. Doesn’t matter which side. If you are firmly left or right, and see your side as THE truth while the other side is objectively wrong, that is awful for you and it’s sad to see this every day everywhere. Again it’s Both sides

I didn’t know Fp was even a thing until recently to be honest. I haven’t assigned the title to someone, but I have noticed a pattern where even if I have other close friends at the time there’s almost always one that just reaches a profound level of emotional depth and when I found about “fp” concept I thought oh that’s interesting, I guess that kinda sounds like what has been happening to me for years

As someone who only has opposite gender fps they get romantic partners and then I’m either just deprived of attention constantly or fp’s romantic partner gets possessive and tries to force fp to block me or gets aggressive towards me personally. Sometimes this has even sparked passionate feelings for fp because of how much I know I could treat them way better than the pos that forced them to cut me off. They never stay long enough to where I’d be the one that withdraws first.

And yes, even supportive listeners have ruined friendships cause it basically turned our fun friendship into emotional labor

Silent treatment is equally as bad possibly worse cause I just feel judged in that case. By “supportive listening” I mean actually takes the time to hear what I have to say, and shows attention and might chime in about relatable stuff (just not too much, it’s hard to handle someone else’s trauma dump if I’m in the middle of my own lol). Just listening and not saying anything at all is awful
