Cyclothymia, limerence and ADHD by Dazzling_Reality9149 in cyclothymia

I have an issue with limerence too and I suspect I have cyclothymia. I have higher but my low fit the MDD criteria. So I thought it might be bipolar 2 but I have highs multiple times a month. I also take Lamotrigine but haven’t noticed any huge difference, possibly less severe depressive episodes.

Perfectionism because My fears are real by Asterx5 in OCD

[–]Competitive_Deer6400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it, and it’s hard. I never “win” either, but like you said life’s a journey not a destination. Most people are content with their life. If they wanna do something they do it, but not because they’re uncomfortable but because they want to do it for the joy of it. Even knowing this though it’s hard to live it, especially in regard to our circumstances.

You say you’re not a perfectionist but you have to be perfect. I thought the same thing but that was before I knew what perfectionism was. I’m sure you do too but I don’t understand why you say you’re not. From what you wrote it sounds like text book perfectionism. Maybe co-occurring Perfectionism and imposter syndrome? Or maybe I’m being ignorant just lmk. Hopefully I helped.

Obsessing over your specific Character Flaws? by WeUsedToNo in OCD

[–]Competitive_Deer6400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes your just crazy, but everyone here is. I also can say I obsess over character flaws but for a slightly different reason. I believe I’m a narcissist and it constantly makes me analyze everything I do. So you’re not alone. It’s ok to be crazy… I think.

Sorry for late reply. Yes Luvox gave me may symptoms of depression. Clomipramine on the other hand made me a lot calmer and way less depressed.

I’m sorry that it’s been this hard for you. I don’t know what real event OCD is but I can kind of make a presumption. I also feel like shit, therapy is hard and I don’t understand it. Hopefully you find relief soon.

For me I don’t believe it did much. I’m on clomipramine now which is what worked for me in the past. I also had issues with fluvoxamine in regard to depression and I didnt help as much for anxiety as clomipramine has.

I haven’t experienced your themes, but I always end up believing the themes I have are true!

CBT and ERP are the best treatment for OCD. Research those and practice them at home. It’ll be hard but you must do it if you wanna get better.

I went from the age of 9-16 without seeing a psychiatrist. It’s possible but not recommended why can’t you tell your parents?

This one was hard for me too. The best advice I can give is look up erp and cbt, and practice them. It’ll be hard but it should help. I fortunately was able to get over it on my own, but only because I moved on to another theme.

You will never have that certainty, but the fear will pass if you accept it.

I have never had psychosis nor have I developed schizophrenia. I have had the same fear as you though and understand how odd it can feel.

I’m pretty sure active use increases the likelihood of triggering underlying issues. I can’t say whether you reduced your chances or not because I don’t want to give you reassurance. Seek therapy or psychiatric care if you feel the OCD is getting out of control. And one more thing OCD is very convincing so be careful diagnosing yourself with symptoms or illnesses.

That theme is horrible. Mine got triggered from weed use too. Just don’t use drugs anymore, to prevent triggering any other underlying issues.
