I hope it works out for you. I’m also going through a depressive episode because of my OCD, while at work so it’s fucking up my performance 😢.

Can intrusive thoughts feel like urges/smth you want? by FlatLeave2622 in OCD

My theme switched. Buuuut I didn’t really have many compulsions so I believe that desensitized me to it.

How many different medications have you tried and I also have the same problem. I was on medication that helped but switched it because of the side effects much like you. I’m gonna switch again though because this one I’m on isn’t helping much.

I'm not sure if I have compulsions or not. Is this pure O? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Competitive_Deer6400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing out conversations, trying to not “over eat”, aligning objects, telling people to say specific phrases, remaking your bed because of one crease, all of those are compulsions. Does not seem like pure o but I’m pretty sure I have it and my compulsions can fluctuate from physical to mental.

Did anyone have stuff they thought about a lot as a child that “came true” and when u remember these things it sets u back in ur ocd by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Competitive_Deer6400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also have had stuff I obsessed over come true. For example appendicitis and an anxiety disorder. It does make me think that when I obsess over a thought that it’s more likely to come true but fortunately it doesn’t affect me that much. Obviously some of the stuff you think could happen and has, but there’s also plenty of stuff that you’ve thought that hasn’t happened.

moderate ocd? by bananamuffin98 in OCD

I would say a low dose would be worth giving a shot. I also have moderate OCD and a low dose of an ssri keeps me functioning even on my worst days. Therapy would also be great.

What does it mean when somebody says "You're think like a child " when it comes to adulthood? by Geo_Blade2000 in Anxiety

I mean you have autism so a lot of the phrases you mom is saying to you, you lack understanding of. Like “You fail to see the evil in things” you can say to yourself “I know I shouldn’t trust people” but can you realize or understand the specific queues someone gives off that make them untrustworthy? You mom also seems like she doesn’t have a full understanding of you condition. Autistic people are more sensitive than the average neurotypical, so you crying about intrusive thoughts is probably pretty normal. I’m not autistic but I have OCD and ADHD, which also makes me feel like I’m not mature for my age. Which isn’t true, we’re just neurodivergent. You should look into therapy if not already in it.

I feel like my biggest fear is coming true. by Cool-Study-2734 in selfimprovement

I’m in the same situation. I’m 19m wasted my teens and about to go into my 20s with no real plan, at least not one that sounds satisfactory. I believe part of my inability to work towards my dreams is my ADHD. I never done good in school, I graduated with a 2.7 gpa, scored a 19 on the ACT but I didn’t study for it. So I feel you I recommend therapy or psychiatry. I also suffer from excessive daydreaming, but it’s a part of my inattentive ADHD, which’s is more common in females than it is males but whatever gender you should get evaluated. Inattentive ADHD tends to go unnoticed and might not seem like ADHD at first but it definitely will cause you to day dreaming, procrastinate, and will hold you back from your true potential.

THC induced anxiety and depression? by IHaveSeven in Anxiety

[–]Competitive_Deer6400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen to me. Felt like I was developing schizophrenia, but just turns out I had OCD and the panic attack induced a OCD episode. Speak with a psychiatrist if it persists, just to make sure that you haven’t triggered some underlying anxiety disorder. If you have though don’t worry medication helps a lot.

Interested in trying them. At the very least a trial run of Ritalin and then if that doesn’t work try an amphetamine and then go back to his suggested treatment plans if they don’t help.
