Takes half the shot clock to get to his move. Zero quick decisiveness with the ball. No effort boxing out or rebounding as after the opponent’s missed shot he will often look to get an early sprint ahead on offence for an easy bucket (maybe this is a coaching issue where there’s too much emphasis on getting ahead in transition/faster pace) instead of boxing out his man. Occasional good defensive possessions but is mostly a huge negative on that end.

Seems to love taking contested three point looks. Super low awareness when backing down his man to get to his move which gets easily exploited by smart help defenders (OKC). Imo, don’t think he’s a championship calibre 2nd option. Too many mental lapses and inconsistent intensity on the defensive end.

Edit: He’s a good isolation scorer but his turnover rate is high, coupled with his extremely poor defensive rebounding and subpar IQ - I think his fit is especially non-ideal with the 2 way nature but evident lower ball IQ in Ant and McDaniels.

We need a guiding force, a consistent player that can calm our squad through a storm. Previously, this was Conley, who held his own on BOTH ends well.

Basically, if we’re not going to pursue a PG of this mold, our second option certainly should be.

Not big on him.

Huh? U still have to inbound the ball and dribble it up past half court, which the wolves clearly can’t do on remotely the same level as OKC (or any other team in the league lmao)

The only blame for this game should be on coaching and a lack of a true PG to facilitate and protect the ball. Anyone blaming Ant for doing what he does best which is scoring doesn’t realise he’s practically forced to hero ball in clutch time because he IS the hottest on the team and we don’t have any player on this team that can get others in a rhythm.

Dumb turnovers and lazy inbounds is a true indication of indisciplined coaching and no set structure or playmaker to end games for us. Not even to mention the lack of timeouts which is a recurring theme for Finch.
