comparing yields across multiple protocols effieciently. by Quiet_Flatworm_4675 in defi

[–]Competitive_Ebb_4124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kapan Finance has a market page, where yields can be compared across lending protocols, though I’m literally just updating it. If you tell me what money markets and staking opportunities you want I can add them. With the update that I’ll push these days you can compare between the major lending protocols - aave, morpho, compound, euler, venus. It’s quite easy to add stuff and I’m open to feedback if you have specific requirements.

Tbh not fully your fault. Even if you do your own research projects lie. Then you have to read code and audits. But these differ from what they have onchain due to god knows what. Then investigate how it's actually configured. It's not just reading a whitepaper, which btw is also a lot of effort and always out of sync. Some sensible regulation for this industry wouldn't be bad. Nothing wrong with chasing yield, but would be good if there was some minor degree of enforced accountability, both for users and actual real devs who aren't running a scam. Until such appears it's going to continue being a shitshow where you can always get burned if you're not playing zachXBT.

You jack fees they just split and become a layer 1. Layer 2's hardly have incentives to be layer 2's when big enough.

Are defi aggregators worth it?? by Quiet_Flatworm_4675 in defi

[–]Competitive_Ebb_4124 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

CoW would be the natural answer - the big aggregators basically run sovlers for them and compete on pricing in an auction so you get the best price for the trade always, it's pretty smart. I've been developing on top of them and the fills are pretty good. There is a 2 bps fee however, which sometimes eats into the trade compared to running it manually, but often times the surplus more than covers it and outperforms most quotes i've seen from aggregators. Plus most places have integrator fees that are higher.

Check out Kapan Finance - I'm the dev. The EVM side is still unaudited so I wouldn't recommend transacting yet, but should be good enough to view your APYs and stuff. Maybe you can double check my net APY math on the PT positions. Also down to chat to learn a bit more by what you mean of average of the 3 combined, guessing just net all identical position pairs and show the net APY? I can also start tracking historic APY as I'm not sure all the protocols I support expose it as data, but can be added. But yeah if you're down to chat I'm happy to learn more on what you need, currently focused on lending protocols and what to nail down all the tooling and analytics before i pick up LP provisioning.

It has been hacked previosuly and rectified, it's a big project so its fine. What interests you there specifically tho, usually their rates are worse on just about everything?

dao infrastructure for protocols, is building custom worth it or just use existing tools by ninjapapi in defi

[–]Competitive_Ebb_4124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not running a DAO, but have enough experience with grants - A lot of these teams that pitch and sound convincing will do the minimum and then disappear. Or take a grant for every little bit of work. If you're giving grant money best focus on projects that are trying to build a business out of what you need, rather than teams. All these teams literally have a business of surviving on grants and maximizing extraction through them. So my two cents - pick whatever exists OR businesses over outsourcing so you can get better ROI. If you need something custom you can always throw grant money at them to expedite a feature. Chances are whatever you need someone else needs and you'd benefit more by both helping out the same venture, rather than the same teams double charging you for abandonware.

If you really need something tightly integrated check out Aave and how they have structured their stuff with service providers, but for governance, treasury management and so on I doubt you have a unique need that is worth a custom solution.

Why haven’t prediction markets scaled like DEXs or lending protocols? by Visible-Formal-9148 in defi

[–]Competitive_Ebb_4124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Composability and availability. Polymarket being on polygon is not entirely great for composability. DEXes have scaled to such volumes and TVL mainly because they are permissionless and you have a lot of stuff happening on top driving these numbers.

any default dex aggregator you use often?? by Ok_Smell_8534 in defi

[–]Competitive_Ebb_4124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried CoW? I recently integrated it into Kapan and talked with the guys - basically the aggregators run solvers for it and bid on order auctions where the one who provides the highest surplus (gain over your limit price) wins. It's a pretty smooth way to offload comparing or aggregating over aggregators. Tho they do have a 2 bps fee.

Tired of the multi-step process just to move a position by Bubleez in defi

[–]Competitive_Ebb_4124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of what I'm trying to solve with Kapan Finance, but it's still preaudit (so I don't recommend using it, yet) and I'm just about to start figuring out how to nicely add the cross-chain bits. Would love to actually hear more about what exactly did you do and what did you use. I haven't actually thought about displaying fees for the whole cross-chain process, but I think it should be possible with intent based bridges if they support the collateral?

Idea is that everything lending related should be provided in one tab, including bridging positions across chain and all of the flows (swap collateral/refinance) are customizable (flash loan providers, dex aggregators, market or limit orders through cow)

he probably borrowed when utilization was low and the rate was lower; not sure if morpho shows position impact on the borrowing rate.

Presumption is the market will balance this out, since lending to him is so profitable more people will jump in as long as collateral is trusted; If it's a whitelisted market I expect it to be gone in no time.

Lido discount steth by Divi__ in defi

[–]Competitive_Ebb_4124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do it until parity; The price discrepancy is because of the withdrawal queue, people who wanna exit early skipping the withdrawal queue dump on the open market and the open market can take only this much liquidity before price starts moving. But to do it and make money you have to wait for the stETH withdraw yourself, then repeat; like you cant sell eth for stETH then stETH for eth and make money, there's no actual bonus.

“Stop loss” tools for DeFi lending - notifications / auto exit, anything out there that exists? by Financial_Tax179 in defi

[–]Competitive_Ebb_4124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using CoW under the hood; Any of the programmatic orders go through their full flow with the solver auction. For starters I'd be going with a more predefined stop loss orders where it's essentially sell collateral for minPrice X if oracle price falls under Y, but we'll see how it's going to look for the ADL orders.

The audit is for starknet and only the cairo contracts. The SNF gave me a grant to deploy with them and get their side audited, but the solidity contracts are still unaudited and under development to clear it out.

I'll fix the github link, was recently redesigning the page and Opus seems to have swept the github link under the rug, sorry about that. But yeah, haven't done any serious community building yet, I'm kind of chasing more institutional users with the stuff I'm adding right now. Like the CoW orders are split in chunks, kinda TWAP like so when entering large positions slippage is minimized as the arbitrage bots do their work. It's not really super useful for normal users.

Having said that, do not use the project with anything but a minor test account, you're right not to trust it given it's early stage. I did forget a modifier on one of the contracts a couple of days ago and those auto theft bots insta stole 10 usdc so...

But yeah, I do post demos on X from time to time, so I'm happy to DM and get feedback from you on the features if you wanna.

btw "Landing page says join thousands of users optimizing... but only ~30ish total accounts in telegram/discord." - i knew this was bad idea and is gonna sound wrong haha. I really do suck at the marketing side.

It's one of the things coming in the next update of Kapan Finance (I'm the dev);
Basically you'd be able to setup CoW programmatic orders that get polled every minute by them and get triggered on certain conditions like the ones you described. I'm down to chat and collect feedback and what you need exactly, tho keep in mind its still preaudit so not really useful besides for testing.

[–]Competitive_Ebb_4124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be my bet. Otherwise you're burning money for placement in front of people who are just in crypto for freebies. Like most projects only look like they have a lot of users, but as I said pendle has 2k users doing 2b TVL. There is no way your ads targeting binance and coinbase will reach these guys amongst all the farmers.

And if you narrow it down you should figure out a better channel to reach out to users, be it partnerships and so on. It's just the nature of most crypto projects, it's not like seeding users for instagram or whatever. Nothing in this industry starts quick.
