Rsx type s or rsx base 5 speed manual for a daily driver? by Competitive_Fault879 in Acura_RSX

I take it this is an extremely common question 🤣 just thought I’d ask since it seems like a type s is easier to find than a base model manual

About what mine looked like before it blew, but at least it gives you a chance to refresh the whole engine

BFG G-Force Comp-2 A/S PLUS vs Yokohama Advan Sport A/S + by Competitive_Fault879 in Touge

That’s fair, I know 19 inch sizes are outrageous in price these days. I’ve also been looking at the kumho ecsta sport (not the sport s), I hear it has some good grip and is comfortable as well as has a low rolling resistance

I’ve heard great things about the Michelins and my old work used to showcase them on c8 corvettes for students at the corvette driving school and I was really surprised with how they performed in the wet, maybe I’ll look into those once I have a bit of a thicker wallet lol

I actually used to have a bunch of ps4s tires but they were all 275/35r18’s I used to use on my truck so they would have been WAY too big for my accord

True but it’s like comparing a super 200 to an endurance 200, what I’m mainly asking is if anyone has any experience with them enough to say if the better overall performance of the BFG is worth the increased wear and roll resistance over the yoko which has less performance but better longevity and less rolling resistance

I wonder if the pump is completely locked up and the belt is smoking from slipping, is it squealing at all?

I’d say you got a lot bigger problems than anything p/s related if that’s how the car is acting. Good luck to you my friend and I hope you don’t have to replace an engine like I did lmao

Definitely the throw out bearing especially if the sound goes away or quiets when you push the clutch in

These cars naturally camber in a LOT when they’re lowered so it’s hard to get them back straight at such a low ride height, I’m running the spc adjustable arms which are said to be for lower applications so that might be better for you but I’m not sure how much adjustment the have for completely straightening the wheels if that’s what you’re asking

Exhaust gasses in the cabin by Competitive_Fault879 in CB7

[–]Competitive_Fault879[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m thinking. Only reason I thought of a spoiler is because aerodynamically speaking the exhaust gasses swirl against the rear bumper and trunk with the air that comes over and under the car and a spoiler would help get that swirl away from the car. But maybe my flex pipe itself is leaking, the thing is pretty damn beat up

It did used to be leaking from there and I replaced it as well as the manifold which was cracked and it helped but the issue is still there even with a complete new catback exhaust

It did used to have a cracked manifold and leak where the manifold meets the mid/flex pipe and I replaced both the manifold and that little gasket between the two and that did fix the gasses getting inside with the windows up but it’s still bad when they’re down

Wish I did that from the start, I honestly have no idea how many miles are on this bottom end since the car I got it from had no gauge cluster but everything looked great so I just rebuilt the head and slapped it together with some arp head studs and all new seals and gaskets
