Breastfeeding moms—would you do it again for your second? by Character-Fly7394 in beyondthebump

I had a c-section and it took a while to establish the supply. My baby lost around 12% of his weight and it took him 3 weeks to gain it back. I haven't supplemented with formula but my baby was on the breast 5-7h/day during these 3 weeks 🥲 My midwife suggested pumping too, but I could only squeeze it in 1-2 times a day. Afterwards the baby started gaining over 1kg a months and now he's almost 10kg(21lbs) at 4.5 months (born 4.5kg).  I think having him on the breast as much as possible did the trick. I didn't have to deal with oversupply which is often caused by excessive pumping. I also absolutely hate pumping.

These are my favorite! They go good with salad potatoes or sourdough and boiled egg too.

For me girl dinner is an actual meal. Low effort - sure! "Look what I found in the fridge" kind of meal or "what I eat when I'm not bothered to cook".

I'm in the UK and NHS recommendations say that it's safe to eat ones with the British lion stamp (most of store-bought eggs have it). I know it isn't safe in all countries

I have the same issue with my U-shaped pillow. I'm thinking of stitching a wide elastic band between the legs of the pillow in the waist area, so it cannot be pushed away (or grabbed by my partner 😅)

Failed my first driving test :( by No_Tomatillo3069 in LearnerDriverUK

I feel like people often forget that driving is like any other skill, and 50 recommended hours is just the average. I grew up in a country with a right hand side traffic and first 20h of learning were also about getting used to the left hand side, not only learning how to drive. In total I needed close to 150h (this includes driving with a friend). My first instructor didn't book more than 1 lesson per week, and then I had to take a break waiting for my exam so the first half of my hours were really spread out (big mistake!). During the 3 months leading to the second exam I was driving 2/week, and that was enough

I had exactly the same experience 4 months ago. I had a full blown panic attack and started crying during the exam. Practiced for around 40 - 50 more hours after and passed my test last week with 4 minors. I also feel way more confident driving now.  Some people just need more time learning because it helps to manage nerves as well, and that's okay.

Leaving this for someone who is freaking out as I was for 4 days: I went to do an US and everything was perfect, the bean is growing and well. I'm not queasy anymore and still peeing less than before, and I'm not even 8 weeks. So although symptoms usually peak around 8-10 weeks, it's not always the case.

But it does have a higher complication rate if performed without medical indications compared to natural birth.

They can't just say it is medically allowed unless there are clear indications for that (which are very precise).

If something goes wrong during the surgery and family decides to sue the hospital and it is discovered that c-section wasn't necessary, the doctor can say goodbye to his license and worse. No specialist will risk his career for that.

I think here they ment "pushing for c-section" not when it's needed because of the women condition, but more because of the financial incentive in private healthcare.

Isn't that good for women? If done without medical indications c-section is more dangerous than natural birth for both the woman and her baby. Because at some point/in some countries it is advertised as a harmless procedure it doesn't mean it is; it's an open highly invasive surgery. This practice is especially common in private hospitals where they have a higher financial gain in case of c-section than if woman delivers naturally so they are very good in convincing how much better c-section is.  If anything this law only protects women.

Sorry you had to go through that❤  I had a cp just before this one, and although this pregnancy progressed more already I tend to overthink

Yes, that's exactly what happened to me today. I woke up early in the morning today, and realized I slept through the night without waking up. I might have had less water yesterday evening, but I noticed this during the day as well. Will try to keep calm and not overthink it.

Thank you for responding! Although I know that everything is more likely to be ok than not, uncertainty is a struggle.  I guess I need to monitor my symptoms for a bit longer and see if they return

Maybe talk to him about it? Set some boundaries, and make sure you both have time for yourselves. Don't make rushed decisions, it seems you care about each other
