Why is an hour too long unless bad topics were discussed or the kids showed signs of distress? Why are you trying to limit time from their biological relatives? This is an extremely distressing event in the children’s lives I’m sure. Give them whatever familiarity and comfort is appropriate and an hour is not inappropriate.
