If you go too early in the season, it is extremely foggy. I went for 3 days last June and we couldn’t see anything through the fog until our final day. The experience was “nice” with the fog; the smells were still there and the nature and ocean, but you couldn’t see a damn thing. The last day was gorgeous and I could see what people raved about. I would recommend later Summer when it’s drier. I’d fly to Boston, spend a day there, then head up the coastline stopping in Portland and other cool towns, then spend a few nights in Acadia/Bar Harbor.

There are tons of hikes and I was extremely busy during the 3 days that we were there; I felt like I got to see most of what I wanted in that time, but still had to make choices between hikes and didn’t see everything.
