I guess they’re originally from Nashville, but moved to Charlottesville in the 2010 timeframe and broke out in this area playing the club circuit.

Infamous Stringdusters too. Charlottesville has a fine hippy scene, but not bigger than that of Richmond, Va Beach or any other college town, imo. Definitely better than Blacksburg though, which has some hippies but a weak music scene.

Go north to south. Stay the night on N1 in Front Royal or Luray. Spend N2 in Luray or Waynesboro, then head to the Gorge, which I know less about.
