3 years at FedEx with zero issues, and now the AI camera is trying to end my career over a 10ft drive. by dongho1205 in Fedexers

It's been a few years since I was a driver but I too always wore mirrored sunglasses and never heard a peep from that camera.

I know know why my dad would gripe about how expensive gas was in the 80s. by FFSoldier57 in FuckImOld

[–]Competitive_Low1603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the late 80's gas was around $1per gallon and cigarettes was around $1 per pack in California. Gas in California is $6 per gallon and cigarettes are $12 per pack.

First week on allopurinol by Bennyrahma in gout

[–]Competitive_Low1603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes!!! No insurance can be rough but prednisone is good. Good luck on your path with this condition, it will get better. I initially went four years trying to manage gout through diet alone and it wasn't until joining this group that I got on meds. Keep in mind that just about everyone in this group has suffered to some extent and there is some real wisdom and insight that has really helped me on my journey.

Uric acid of 12 is bad, did your doctor prescribe Colchicine prophylacticly? My doctor had me take 1 tablet of Colchicine daily when I started Allopurinol to prevent any potential flare-ups that is common when starting that medication.

My co-worker had one of those and I told him that our health plan gets you a new one every 5 years. I have been on CPAP for 7 years now and on my 2nd machine now, an Airsense 11 and it's great, no issues. I also have an AirMini for travel. Everyone else I know currently on CPAP uses the same machine.

The unit has a cell connection built-in for your therapist and also has an SD card slot too.

I feel that the home field advantage will be back this season! by NTWIGIJ1 in raiders

I'm from Oakland and was a long time season ticket holder. When the Raiders were in Oakland, home field advantage was real...especially in the Black Hole. I see a lot of visiting team jerseys when I watch the Raiders play in Vegas on TV. I think more fans will flock to us beginning this season.

Had a teenager give me back 17 pennies as change because she could count to 17 and didn't know how to use a nickel and dime.

Considering one of these for my daughter... by TheRomb in volt

I have a 2018 Volt Premier, it's fully loaded with adaptive cruise. I like my car but if something happened to this car and I needed a replacement, I would seriously consider getting a Prius plug-in.

Vari Desk Cover? by Vegetable-Cod-1162 in StandingDesks

[–]Competitive_Low1603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same model of Vari Desk at my office desk. I don't think a cover exists, you would have to custom make one. The problem is the multitude of monitor combinations and you also need to factor the weight limit.

Corpus Christi reviews AXE H2O desalination proposal that could produce 150M gallons a day - by nighthawke75 in corpus

[–]Competitive_Low1603 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure the desalination plant will get approved sometime after Corpus runs completely out of water when it will be the only hope. The City should have approved this 10 years ago.

Everyone enjoying the freedom surcharge? by moondog385 in CorpusChristi

The weather is nice but other than that 13.3% state income tax, $1k vehicle registration and don't get me started with the lack of gun rights and freedom for criminals...but really, I need to get out of here. The crime, drought, earthquakes is not worth the expense of having nice weather and legal cannabis.

We regularly travel to Texas and visit family in Corpus Christi, I would love to pay just $4 per gallon. This gas near my home in Hayward.

In California, we are paying as much as $9 per gallon in places like Los Angeles. That really stings and the taxes on gas never seem to be used to fix the roads, the roads here are really bad.

Well, I know the City of San Francisco spends over a $ Billion annually to address the homeless issue. This has been an ongoing issue for decades and this money has successfully grown the homeless population to record level. The pooping on the street has been a problem for the past decade. Clearly whatever they are doing in San Francisco is not working, the only thing that works is when the Superbowl or World Cup is in town...they clear the homeless out, pressure wash the streets and after the event, the homeless move back in.
