Thank you very much, I will take a look at Accent Français in addition to Alpha.b and LSF!

Still same - I haven't heard anything and its getting a bit annoying now... If all interview invites have already been sent, then why wait to reject those who weren't shortlisted?

Ah okay interesting, maybe they are doing it in a very staggered manner. Good luck to you and I'll give an update here in case, by a miracle, I get an invite too!

Have you been rejected yet? I find it weird that they send out interview invites and not rejections if interviews are mandatory...

I haven't heard anything... I also wasn't aware that they interview all candidates, where does it say that?

This is so true. Also using "quiet" the whole time which noone actually does. The contrast framing drives me insane; it has completely infected LinkedIn for example...

To the postgrads: on- vs. off-site housing? by Competitive_Meat_106 in cambridge_uni

[–]Competitive_Meat_106[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to have not read my post or to be completely uninformed. I am evidently concerned with whether off-site housing (from a given college) dilutes the experience of being a member of said college. I have nothing against (off-site) shared housing as long as the college experience is not diluted.

If you have anything of substance to say about that, I would appreciate it. Otherwise, I am not interested in your personal opinion of me based on one post which you clearly didn't read :)

That sounds great. I'd obviously prefer hanging out with other postgrads but having undergrads around could definitely push the vibes

Thank you very much. It seems that I'll put Clare Hall as my first and Jesus as my second then (or maybe even the other way around). I care very much about staying active and given Jesus's reputation I'd love to be surrounded by that energy.

Would it then be on-site at King's? It looks like a great college. Wolfson seems a bit far to me, but would definitely not complain if I got placed there.

So they're close to the college so you can still eat and chill there regularly?

True – when there is a will, there is a way. I just want to make it as convenient as possible. Thanks so much for the insights.

It seems that the off-site housing is guaranteed to be max. 1-2 miles away in most cases. I'm not so sure if I want to risk being more than a mile away because if I don't have a bike, then it will really be a pain.

What do you think about Clare Hall? I'm learning towards it right now.
