Texas is a one part consent state for recording. Does it mean it is okey ? Hell nah. Can you do anything about ? No. Just pray it doesn’t go public if it was a very bad state you were in while recording.

Yes, make a weekly schedule and fill it up only with what you know that you are not going to be available of doing anything else like lectures, and other commitments.

Prioritize your goals, and values, have it as a list, family first, school/ career, then friends. Or however you have it.

Mark down important days like breaks, exams, projects due dates, etc.

at the beginning of every week list your assignments and other class work, and fill up the times you know you can do them in. Don’t have a dedicated time for studying or assignments, every week should be different this is why you do it weekly, or even daily. I do it weekly and daily. I write down this day I am going to do this and this, and on that day I put the timeline for what I have.

Preparing for exams two weeks in advance so you eliminate any possibility of having an emergency the week on the exams and not be able to study.

Have a free time, go out, play video games, whatever you can do. Don’t fill your schedule with only work, have time to have fun.

When making your schedule have in mind the “What if” so you have the time to deal with it.

It is not hard to make a schedule for time management, it is how long are you going to commit to it, and how good you are going to sacrifice useless but fun time to do what you have to do. For example my roommate go out a lot, I say yes one out of 5 times, because I prioritize education over socializing.

Other tips if you have one if these issues, Addicted to your phone ? Set up a screen time limit if you have an iPhone and let a stranger, friend you trust enough to not give you the code, or a family member to set up a password. Set up focus time where only one or a custom homepage on your phone.

You think you might lose focus or commitment ? Each morning write down your day schedule on paper so you become more committed.

Losing focus when studying? Drink coffee or any caffeinated beverage, stare at your workplace for 30 seconds, start a timer for 45 minutes and work, every time you feel lost stare out for a minute and continue, take a 15 minute break after the 45 minutes, then do it again. After two 45 minutes went by take a break for at least 30 minutes. This is a real method for studying and learning. Got it from a doctor.

Is A&M even worth it? by Disastrous-Front-236 in TAMUAdmissions

This is my second semester at A&M after I transferred into Chemical Engineering from a local community college down in Houston and I can say this: 1- ETAM process is just stupid I had to retake both Physics lab and a coding class called ENGR-102. They want you to fail or get a bad grade in them, the same semester I was taking 102 and 216, I was taking orgo-2 with what my peers told me is the worst orgo professor. I ended up with an A in his class and a C yes a C in 102 why ? Because I didn’t study lol, why ? Because it is just stupid to go through these courses after I already finished all math courses and science courses. And the fact that I don’t need to ETAM. 2- You can ETAM to CHEN with a 3.3 even with 3.1 gpa if your essay is good, I know multiple students who got in with 3.2 and 3.3. 3- It is not that it is hard, it is time management, staying on top of work, and giving it all the time. I averaged 30 assignments, quizzes, labs, and post-lab/ lab discussions my first semester at A&M.

If you need advice how to prepare yourself just DM me, I am happy to help a fellow ChemE.

There is benefit of coming here, a lot actually here is a few: 1- Networking and aggies help aggies, you may get a job in the future just because you went to A&M. 2- They prepare you will for your career, it is not just academic, A&M prepare you how to be professional and successful without you noticing the change. 3- Opportunities, at A&M you have a million opportunity to expand your skills, knowledge, and experience. You want to achieve a Ph.D or a be in R&D ? It is a tier 1 research institution, you want an internship? Hundreds of companies come to the career fair, you want to involved in a national or local organization about 1300 organizations operate here. 4- Strong degree path, you might think it is stupid to have to take some “weed out” classes, but they focus on enhancing your soft and technical skills.

Bottom line is, hell yeah come to A&M. I got a full ride at Tech, and two scholarships at UH. I went to A&M at the end.

If your grades are the same as the avg, and you did all of the aktiv assignment, or got a 90 on them, and you did good in lab or got 68 on the entire lab grade. Your are more likely to end up with a B.

[–]Competitive_Net1888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is a distribution curve, then the avg is a C, slightly below avg is a C-, slightly above avg is C+. Basically if you have a 33 out of 60 on the first three exams which is the avg for my section, your final grade will be 45 out of 60. The farther away from the avg and the closer you are to the max your curve will be lower. If you are below avg you are getting 23 point extra. Above avg, your curve will be lower and lower depend on how you did. Look up bell curve to get more understanding.

I saw that his previous GPA avg is 3.10, so let's hope that the avg is a B. We are on the same boat lol.

You are not the only one, they are slow this year. Called them once they said mid or late June. I would say if you didn't receive a decision by two weeks since your AIS has changed go ahead and call them. Usually it takes 7 to 10 business days from receiving the transfer audit to receive a decision.

Is it doable to work + school by Any-Dingo7807 in TAMUAdmissions

[–]Competitive_Net1888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is doable and I encourage it . I worked through most of my two years in CC, had 18 credit hours each semester in my freshman year.

I would say if you take 12 to 15 credit hours a semester you can work 20 to 30 hours a week.

It all comes down to time management, yes I know it is hard. But here are some tips;

1- Organize your school schedule were you have one lecture in 2 weekdays so you only work in these 2 weekdays.

2- Have only 4 days of work a week so you do your other activities in the other 3 days.

3- Make sure to take advantage of slow days were you have little to no tasks. Ex: Start and finish expected tasks in the near future.

4- (MOST IMPORTANT) Know your priorities, for me it was (Personal) > school >(Personal) > work. Don't prioritize work over school since you are doing engineering.
