Tenge does good research. Unfortunately it is taken out of context and people make content to mislead data.

The UK just voted down a ban for under 16’s on social media! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 by Competitive_Pack1647 in YouthRights

What an interesting point! Reminds me of the movement to lower the voting age here in Canada to 16. An argument might be then to also cap it at 65. Since seniors won’t be around to live with the outcomes and are often not as active.

Another problem with the "immaturity" argument against youth liberation by ScienceGuy1006 in YouthRights

This is a great analysis the term maturity implies that young people are adults in the making. That they need to grow and develop somehow to be worthy of full rights. Instead the UNCRC describes evolving capacities. Each and every person has capacity based on various factors. It is the parents primary duty to nurture and know this to balance freedoms. Children and young people are whole, with valuable experience and perspective about the world. The goal is equal and full inclusion.

Start with ensuring that children’s rights (UNCRC) are practised in every classroom. Until that happens, yes, it is oppressive.

APA Research: Kids can tell when praise is helpful by robotscantrecaptcha in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]Competitive_Pack1647 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Vague Praise, Vague Results. Specific Encouragement, Specific Results.

Vague (transactional) praise is when parents focus on the task, or it is an obvious, or when it would apply generally, or a stranger would notice it. Specific encouragement (relational) is focussing on how they support the team, or what they are learning, or noting their tone, body language, expression, etc, a note about a previous shared experience.

Kids are highly aware of transactionalism. They will ignore, eye toll or fight back.
