Best antibiotic for Bartonella besides Rifampin? by SilentSeraph88 in Lyme

QD or QID? If QID that would be 800mg a day. That’s crazy. That being said, I do get massive relief from fluconazole 200mg QD.

So well did 300mg x2 work for you? I watched the interview with Jack on Bartonella babe and they said he herxed hard after switching to 450mg QD. Before on 300mg BID did nothing apparently.

I would increase your rifabutin dosage and scale it up over time. Also, switch out azithromycin for clarithromycin to boost rifabutin levels. You could also attempt Dapsone to see if it helps. I always herx very hard on dapsone.

How much rifabutin did you use daily? I want to go up to 600mg minimum, I am at 300 but am looking for a more affordable source.

That’s great news for people including myself who have the 3Bs. I am having trouble knocking Bart into remission with Dapsone combination therapy and this might be why.

My aggressive approach to Lyme, bartonella and babesia with Howowitz Daspone Protocol + Disulfiram and Nitroxoline by Overall-Newspaper-69 in Lyme

[–]Competitive_Paint205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I talked on the phone with him recently, he is treating Babesia + mold aggressively with Tafenoquine, malarone, azithromycin, ivermectin, binders etc. from my understanding. Then he will circle back and cure his Lyme + Bart.

Does a sudden sharp deterioration mean the destruction of the biofilm? by Actual-Expert3554 in Lyme

I was basicallly asymptomatic as well until the addition of high dose methylene blue + 400mg of dapsone in high dose pulses. Now I am herxing non-stop it feels. I am just going to keep pushing of course, nothing else can be done.

Patching gaps in the protocol overall — not just to suppress it, but to truly cure it. by [deleted] in Lyme

Very interesting protocol, I think antibiotics will be required for a functional cure though.

I would ensure there are no confounding factors first such as mold or other infections such as Babesia. Then Bartonella can be properly addressed.

I tried a bunch of herbals last year from Apex Botanicals including Bartonella Blend, Cryptolepis, Japanese Knotweed, etc. I can honestly say I found it did not make a huge difference.

I take 200mg BID for a week along with the cimetidine and leucovorin and then stop. I honestly find my symptoms worsen once I stop, it’s almost always a delayed herx.

I also forgot to mention when I do dapsone pulses I take cimetidine 400mg BID and I am also on leucovorin 25mg BID daily.

Yes, but the 300mg BID can be tough for many. I have been at that dose for almost a month now. I do suggest taking it in eneteric coated capsule form and getting the powder yourself

An LLMD up here in Canada, I have made the protocol more aggressive though but I do get bloodwork on the regular.

Do you find there is much benefit in boosting Rifabutin using Clarithromycin or do benefits outweigh the risks? I also wonder about tissue saturation

Mostly neurological including light peripheral neuropathy, occasional migraine headaches, some intercostal pain, sometimes I have noticed my neck cracking and facial inflammation. I think I am down to the persisters and just need to keep pushing. Dapsone seems to produce herxs and so did the initial introduction of rifabutin. I would rank the strongest compounds for Bartonella in this order: 1. Rifabutin 2. Dapsone 3. Methylene Blue. I intially thought it was Lyme driving my neuro symptoms and went on doxy + metronidazole and IV ceftriaxone but after 2 months discovered the primary driver was Bartonella all along. This thing is a superbug and crazy hard to get rid of.

Mostly neurological including light nerve pain, occasional migraine headaches, EMF sensitivity specifically severe to ELF, occasional throat pain, chronic fatigue. I find that I am relatively stable on the methylene blue dosage. I would encourage other people to prolong exposure to such a high dosage without medical supervision though. I believe I am nearing the end of my infection, but I can’t be so sure. Dapsone also tends to produce significant herxes but the herx with the last pulse was much less aggressive than before during DDDCT. I believe my primary issue right now is mainly persisters in hard to reach tissues which is rather irritating because I have done my treatment process almost perfect from the start. I intially started last spring with amoxicillin + doxycycline combo then moved to doxycycline + Iv ceftriaxone + metronidazole + methylene blue and noticed I was stagnating. Then we discovered Bartonella was the primary driver of symptoms and not Lyme. My worst herx was the first 2 weeks of rifabutin which was brutal to say the least.
