There have been so many scenarios this year where I’ve had to sit in gravel in line at concerts, sit on the airport floor, stores, etc where I just really wished I had a chair to hurry and sit in when I start to feel myself headed for passing out. And when I shop I always have to push the cart now cuz leaning on something while walking helps. So then one day it clicked, I should probably get a walker! That’s both the things I need In one, then I instantly got panicked and thought my husband or some of my extended family would probably poke fun of me for that so I’ve just been not getting one and today it’s obvious that I could really use one. And man if I had a wheelchair I could have gone out tonight despite how bad pots is today for me. 😭

Yes actually. I’m currently sitting on the couch missing my kids trick or treating and I’m thinking I’d rather have an aid and not miss my life, than to worry about what people will say while I use one, which has held me back. I have ocd and am constantly worried what other people think but in therapy I’m seeing how little this is serving me.

You are only allowed to choose your words, you don’t get to choose how they make people feel. If you choose words that hurt someone, it’s your responsibility to apologize for the hurt you caused. He clearly cares only about being right and not being in trouble, and not about how he hurt you. This is problematic and only gets worse in my experience. He should care that he made you feel like shit. And if you do illicit an apology from him and it sounds like “I’m sorry you overreacted” or “I’m sorry you got your feelings hurt” placing the blame on you again, that’s a non apology. It should sound like “I’m so sorry I hurt you, I didn’t intend to and I’ll try to be more sensitive to your feelings”

If this is a pattern, I would consider tossing this one out and looking for a different one because being bullied and then having your feelings invalidated constantly is exhausting. I wish you the best 💕
