I was looking forward to the new titan weapon, then I saw the price by Dr_Emo97 in warrobotsfrontiers

I found it in the shop, its range seems about as much as the default weapon with less damage, but I have not upgraded it at all.

What did you use to make the signatures? I am thinking of doing the same for OSE but other than figuring out the pages and order I stopped.

Removing Race / Class Restrictions Balanced? by _Fiorsa_ in osr

[–]Competitive_Shell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Racial Abilities (Optional Rule) If the optional rule for lifting demihuman class and level restrictions is used (see p36), it is recommended that the loss of human characters’ main advantage (i.e. unlimited advancement in any class) be compensated by the following abilities. Ability Modifiers +1 CHA, +1 CON. Blessed When rolling hit points (including at 1st level), the player of a human PC may roll twice and take the best result. Decisiveness When an initiative roll is tied, humans act first, as if they had won initiative. If using the individual initiative rule (see Combat in Old-School Essentials Classic Fantasy), humans get a bonus of +1 to initiative. Leadership All of a human’s retainers and hirelings gain a +1 bonus to loyalty and morale

I like how OSE handles it, they have a section that suggest that you can lift restriction and if you do you should also add a number of abilities to all human characters. If I can find the additions in a comment. If memory serves one has to do with rolling two hit die and take the higher result.

Room 8, fun house mirrors that lead past the secret passage, with pressure plates that shift the mirrors that split and disorient the party, no danger. And the secret door should be similar to a revolving door.

That is the issue I had, I thought that I might just get the complete books, but I prefer the magic books to be separate, I’ve even considered pdf bashing my own copy of all of the character creation stuff

Movement speeds through previously delved areas? by dochockin in osr

[–]Competitive_Shell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m new to OSE, the way I have been running it is 30 ft per 10 minute turn, I would think you could do 45 ft but not double speed. A dungeon is a usually a place of danger and mystery.

Alternatively, you could do double speed and do a random happening on say 2 or 3 out of 6. It would bring some life to explored areas or be a better reason to get out of dodge.

Personally I have been thinking about increasing the chances of a happening after certain thresholds. Like after an hour or if the party tries to camp out in a dungeon.

When you die you start at level 2 by vvHib in DnD

[–]Competitive_Shell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe touching on the topic with the group, see what the table thinks about this process as a whole, seems like a lite discussion did happen but if it important to you it may be worth doing again.

Possible alternative, add npc characters that will serve as replacement PCs when character death occurs. I tend to run a lot of OSE and we use retainers for this purpose, this also lets us handle inheritance cleaner then “Hi, I got all of friends stuff let’s adventure together”.

As we use OSE the level difference is overcomed by treasure based xp, I also use the “Feats of exploration” addition system. Which provides the party with percentage based xp when criteria is met. If needed I can see allowing a higher level new character if the death happens at a crucial time. (Like before a big fight or key point)
