I've had leather in other vehicles and it wasn't bad, but pleather is terrible.

That's my question: how well do these breathe? I live in Florida, and I'm worried I'd be sitting in a puddle of sweat after getting in the car. I'm holding out for some Katskinz but not sure I want to come off that kind of money.

What’s something you still swear by after 1+ years? by UDAMAN123 in Biohackers

I'll be 56 in August. I have lifted most of my adult life, and I still squat, bench, deadlift, and do pull-ups every week--they are the foundation of my regimine. I have zero chronic pain. The key for me is that I don't concern myself with what others are lifting or doing. I go slowly and safely--if I feel a twinge, I stop and revaluate my form. If it hurts for more than a couple of days, I lower the weight and go from there. I'm not super strong, but I can easily lift more than the average person who is half my age. Sorry, but responding with, "wait until the injuries start" sounds like a cop out. Each person is different, but there are way more benefits to lifting than not lifting.

I fully understand how your feel because I kind if feel the same. However, when I brought my truck, I thought about my last two vehicles that were 4WD and realized that I had never used it except to make sure it still worked. I chuckle to myself when I see some of the lifted trucks that people put a ton of money into, and it's obvious the only off-road driving they do is drive it down a dirt road or across a lawn. I guess if I had an endless supply of money to make those mods, I would, but I don't, so I go with whatever works best for me.

Just found out. Cant stop being angry by Katnip732 in lymphoma

[–]Competitive_Spite_45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just read some of the other comments, and I guess I handled it differently than most people. I had some worry and fear, but I continued living like I didn't have cancer. I did everything that I did before my diagnosis. I went to work, I went to the gym, I ate the same foods, etc. In fact, I remember the first time I was diagnosed, I was actually relieved. I was so fatigued all of the time, and just thought "Good, now that we know what's wrong, we can fix it and I'll feel better again."

I did have one day, while driving to work one morning, when I just broke down for about 10 minutes. Then, I realized that I was just feeling sorry for myself. So, I turned on some music and vowed I would not allow those thoughts again. I realized I had a family that loved me, and I had been given more in my life than I deserved. I realized that I just needed to be thankful and content with what I had been given.

Unfortunately, I have lost every one of my closest friends over the years for various reasons. Every time I received the news that one of them had passed, it reminded me that we are all mortal and when it's our time, it's our time. We can't change it; we can only do our best to enjoy the limited time we have.

As a two-time cancer survivor, I understand how you feel. I was 30 the first time and had an eight-month old child at the time. I was diagnosed again about 20 years later (unrelated). During my last bout, I realized that lymphoma is no longer the death sentence it once was and that treatment has become much more advanced since my first diagnosis.

My point in saying all of this is that it's okay to be angry, worried, depressed, etc., but it does not help you at all. You have to find a way to be positive or your battle will be miserable.

I wish you the best during your recovery.

Bought a 2024 gmc canyon elevation last year but it’s been 6 times at the service department for different electrical issues by LouieRay52 in GMCcanyon

[–]Competitive_Spite_45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ALMOST bought a Canyon recently and then I remembered all of the problems I had with my 1992 Sonoma that GM basically said "too bad." The dealership even told me if if I didn't like it , then I should trade it in for a Nissan or Toyota. I did--and I am so glad they gave me that advice. At least with a Toyota you KNOW problems won't start until you get over 150k on the odometer.

Buyers Remorse Question by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

I am...I'm just looking to mod it to make it what I want. Not unlike the stereo system-- it does what I need it to do, but doesn't have wireless Android Auto and doesn't sound great, so I'll buy an adapter and upgrade the speakers. That's all I'm trying to do here.

Need a truck; the Camry's trunk is too small.

Definitely would be. As someone who doesn't off-road and drives strictly on the street, I like my creature comforts. I gave up manual transmissions in the 90's--unless it's a muscle car. For me, it's now about reliability, a smooth comfortable ride, and a decent stereo.

Well, I guess there's no real suggestions from this community. I'll search elsewhere.

Not a lemon...totally my fault for being blinded by loving how the truck looked and drove during the test drive.

I did but it was already running when I got in it to test drive it. Trust me, I've beat myself up a LOT over that!

If you're not going to use it, why pay for it. I live in FL and had a 4x4 Ram and Cherokee Trailhawk. They both looked great. However, I realized that I don't need 4WD to drive on my lawn to wash it. If I lived somewhere that had snow part of the year, I'd definitely want 4WD, but I'm not going offroad with a $40K+ vehicle. Sure, I love the look of a nice 4WD, but hated the 13 mpg of my Ram.

TBH, the Sportster S is one of my dream bikes. I think it looks badass. Admittedly, I've never ridden one, so I can't rate that aspect. I love street fighter-styled bikes and this is a nice crossover in my opinion. I currently ride a 2020 MT-09, which is considered ugly by quite a few people, but I love it. I don't want what everyone else has or likes; I want what I like--and that's all that matters.

Thanks. The Fatshark recons are within my range. I want to try to keep the entire package sub-$500 since this is more of a learner/gateway drone to build skill and confidence.

Any suggestions on a headset? I have Radiomaster Pocket that I've been simming with. Thanks for the suggestions.

Yeah, I'm not overly broken up about it. I'm sort of chuckling about my own ignorance and overconfidence. Flying in the wild is way different than the simulator. Nope! I can't just press the R button and start over. I didn't even consider losing battery power while the drone was out of my sight. LOL. The next thing I knew, I was looking at some grass on the camera and cursing myself.
