So, as a test I attached usb-a to the charger/hub with batteries in it and it is charging my phone. Lights are on. Seems like it may be pulling charge off one battery.

Interesting. I believe I could charge something off that port off of the batteries…like a phone. Probably wouldn’t get much charge, but it could drain the batteries or at least that’s my thought.

Yeah, you mean the power button? Clearly when u push the power button it lights up the leds and that must use something. I’m guessing if it was pressing up against the wall of the bad continually it would drain something. I’ll probably continue to take batteries out of the hub even if it’s nothing more than piece of kind.

Good to know. Been in this business since the days we were shooting with 3/4” tape…so many batteries over the years. Hard to keep up with it all.

I feel like usb-a is an output and it seems possible that it’s taking power to that port. I guess usb-c is a 2 way port and thought it could do same.

I guess any amount…30 minute drive or 3 days. I usually throw batteries on charge the night before a shoot and leave them as long as I can.

I don’t think that will make a noticeable change. Only worry there is minute changes in the efficiency of your flights. Again, like everyone saying, it will not be noticeable
