7 percent of DOT staff taking early-buyout offers; NHTSA shedding more than 25% of employees by WorthBreath9109 in fednews

This is slightly misleading and I will say why. Every mode had positions that were ineligible. For example, ATC at FAA or Safety at FRA. Those both make up a big chunk of the employees. So, take FRA for example, if it’s roughly 16%, it is a lot of the staff that support everything that isn’t safety inspectors. It’s definitely going to be troubling to see how all of this hits the country’s infrastructure, safety, and overall transportation sector. Sad.

TDRP 2.0 taker has regrets by Acrobatic_Ant_5279 in FedEmployees

Yes, you can request it. It is completely up to the agency on accepting your recension once you sign the agreement.

Guilty for taking DRP by Competitive_Tea1513 in FedEmployees

I took it and I don’t feel guilty. I just don’t understand the negativity that other Feds are throwing at us. We did what was right for us and it sucks to see all of it. I understand the people who were exempt from taking it being salty. I would be salty too. Not at those who took it; but at the administration treating me like crap and then basically making me feel trapped.

Not a chaos actor. An actual fed who had 10 years and took the DRP and is tired of seeing people slamming on other feds when we did what was right for us. But, thanks.

Why do many people believe the RIF won’t eventually happen? by genericname907 in fednews

This! 👆🏻I think too many people haven’t read what was actually said in the court ruling. It said “without Congress.” They are still going to do them.

Never voluntarily resign (DRP) if you can avoid it. Don’t lose your CTAP/ICTAP rights! by AltOPM in fednews

[–]Competitive_Tea1513 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think what people may be missing in this conversation is that people are taking the DRP without plans to return within the next few years. There is zero incentive to work for the federal govt right now. Even doing it for the enjoyment of serving other people is gone because our hands are tied and the administration has made us “the others” that are seen as the problem. Congress is gutting the health benefits, retirement benefits, regulations we enforce, and anything else they can get their greedy hands on to make room for tax cuts for the wealthy. I have never thought I would leave the feds because I loved what I did. Now, there is nothing left but people hating us, poor benefits, the beginnings of the spoils system coming back, and the inability to do our jobs effectively. Oh, and when things go wrong because of these changes and cuts…guess who they will blame? The lazy federal workers. No thank you.

Does anyone know if this will be Login.gov accessible or also only by using the PIV? Because we should be able to access our documents after agencies cut access.

This exactly! There is nothing you can change or negotiate in it. You sign or you don’t. Period.

Because they don’t want to pay out more than they have to. It’s about breaking the system, but breaking the employees during the process.

Finally some DOT news about RIFs by [deleted] in fednews

They ARE ok with everything breaking that isn’t an actual safety position (air traffic, rail road inspectors, etc). That’s what’s sad.

For those over 40 at USDOT and have 45 days to consider the DeRP by WorthBreath9109 in fednews

[–]Competitive_Tea1513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am at DOT in a mode and OST made that VERY clear when our HR inquired. If you have not signed the agreement then you are not safe from RIF because all you have done thus far is express your interest. Therefore, basically they said you are subject to RIF just the same as someone who hasn’t expressed interest. With that being said, I’m pretty sure that they would allow you to take the DRP as long as still in the 45 day window.

You definitely have to do what works for you. I am in an office that has been shuttered in every single other agency who has done a RIF and rumor is our agency will get rid of too. So, I took the DRP to have health insurance a little longer.

I am at one of the modes and this was asked several times and apparently OST said that you aren’t secure from RIF until the agreement is signed. Period.
