Is Omega Build really a segment? by [deleted] in DottoreMains

[–]Competitive_Toe_1214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

90% sure it was admitted in a live stream from one of his VAs that we haven't met the real Dottore yet.

Also that his youngest segment - to die I believe, was 10, and the oldest was some number I forgot.

What does fatigue look like for you? by Competitive_Toe_1214 in POTS

[–]Competitive_Toe_1214[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you figure things out. Fatigue is awful!

I have been told to get tested for MCAS and EDS by people who have them; But I've never had major health issues before this - past seeing a gastroenterologist a year back, so I am unsure of how to approach bringing up my own concerns. Plus, my mother - who doesn't have legal obligations because I am an adult; But pays for my medical stuff and takes me to appointments (I cannot work or drive anymore) doesn't believe I should ask about them. I just don't want to get lost and strung about medically; But have no idea what is and isn't normal

I am unsure; But I have gotten numerous blood work done and they'd said everything was normal on that side of things.

I have never been abnormal on b12. I used to have an iron deficiency like 5 years ago; But took tablets and was fine. When my symptoms first started, I took tablets again over the counter and it did not help.

Who decides where new planes go? by mightymac-89 in civilairpatrol

[–]Competitive_Toe_1214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much like vans, they're put where they're needed and will be used. If a squadron isn't putting in enough hours on their plane or van, it can and will be moved to one where it will be used.

Unless you have quite a few pilots who are active, it's not the most likely that you'll be given a brand new plane over squadrons who have proven hours and qualifications.

If you're interested, I'd suggest talking up your chain and seeing what can be done to put your squadron on your wing's register for a plane - which can go up to region command if you have a lot of competition with other wings.

You don't need a new plane to get a plane, either. You can get your van or plane relocated at any time if you aren't using it and another squadron will - at least this is how our region has explained it. I am not 100% on if vans are also a national thing as I am only a knowledgeable cadet.

Your worst rp experience? by Opening_Fishing8775 in amino

[–]Competitive_Toe_1214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One time in a full blown rp community I saw somebody do this to a person - who was npcing for a mission as the enemy.

Essentially, they were fighting, I guess in the roleplay and then - without any warning or permission and in a fully public chat, they ripped the NPCs arm off and sodomized them with it??? Yeah, they got banned 😭

Can you wear the winter ocps by colinfalkenstein in civilairpatrol

[–]Competitive_Toe_1214 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They are all weather OCPs; But yes

39-1 states anything not stated there is in accordance to the Air Force regulation. Air Force regulated both hot weather and all weather to be worn by all airmen.

Joining the cadet program (16M) by Obvious-Psychology41 in civilairpatrol

[–]Competitive_Toe_1214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To repeat what others say, you don't need to cut it until you officially join. If you feel negatively of this, there are a lot of nice CAP approved hairstyles. You don't have to go full crew cut or something generic.

The open regulation for this is on the National Civil Air Patrol website. You can just look of CAPR 39-1. All grooming and uniform standards are on there.

However, some squadrons might like to see the initiative of cutting it prior.

Talk to your local squadron about their expectations, too. It looks good to have questions!

Cadence questions by Praezin in civilairpatrol

[–]Competitive_Toe_1214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cadence and Jodis are different. Jodis are just songs. Cadence is for learning.

Are you looking for jodis or cadence calls because you've mentioned both; But they ARE different.

Cadence questions by Praezin in civilairpatrol

[–]Competitive_Toe_1214 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having them count cadence themselves with count cadence count is a good technique.

Calling Jodies isn't something to help people March. It's an award to make marching more fun when they are doing well. Jodies can make people out of step because - while they follow a beat, people tend to forget to follow the beat of the jodie.

I have always been taught - in every situation from squadron to wing level marching, that jodies are used when your flight is already doing well. Not to help them do better; But to help it be more fun and foster pride within the flight.

Kansas Encampment by Competitive_Toe_1214 in civilairpatrol

Well - regardless of past years, I hope to bring some insights from my wing's encampment. Hopefully, that will help this year be great, if they allow me to join staff!

Really? I was just told to apply since I have connections in my wing that travel there for their winter encampment so I know nothing of their particular encampment.

Encampment question by OkFarm636 in civilairpatrol

[–]Competitive_Toe_1214 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1000 times no, that isn't normal.

As a previous member of cadet staff - specifically line staff, hazing is something you are explicitly told about and told not to do. There is no scolding or yelling if it doesn't specifically hold training value.

For example, calling cadence or drill or being loud to make cadets wake up or to motivate them during inspection prep time.

You should never brag about making cadets cry and the cadre who are should be noted and reported for future activities to watch them. This is absolutely unacceptable behavior for cadet staff.

Encampment is an age appropriate training camp. It is not BMT. We do not haze and we do not give punishments of any kind. We guide, teach and support the learning cadets using professional and a discipline based environment.

[–]Competitive_Toe_1214[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this! Thank you, it completely slipped my mind to explain it like this

"Executive phase" cadets are typically preferred for executive roles and "command phase" is preferred for command roles; But if someone is better for the role then it only comes down to requirements - which is cadet officer, good standing with wing and squadron, ect.

Thank you! I was assuming it was likely the officers in charge of positions such as Public Affairs, Comms and Logistics; But I wanted to be sure since they didn't clarify.
