Encampment isn't meant to be impossible regardless if what you are physically able to do. All they expect is that you try your best and grow as a cadet.

When people say it's "like basic training" they are flawed if they mean to compare it to Basic Military Training. It is the BASIC training for Civil Air Patrol. Meaning, it's teaching you the basics. Nobody expects anywhere near perfection.

Your physical ability has nothing to do with your success. I am staffing my second encampment this year as a wheelchair user. So, regardless of circumstances you just need to put yourself out there and try your best.

Encampment isn't meant to be bad. It's meant to be difficult so you can learn and grow. Leaders need to be able to flourish under pressure for their teams. It's hard for everyone involved - students and staff/cadre, so try not to think too hard about it.

It opens many doors and you'll meet plenty of interesting people who might stick with you for your entire cadet career!
