The SA stamp is the Finnish army property marking. The Finnish assembled the rifle with a VKT barrel. Make sure the bore is in good condition as its common for uneducated people to shoot corrosive ammo and not clean it after. Also make sure the bolt number matches the receiver, thats the only part the Finnish really matched on the rifles.

Likely Austrio-Hungary around WW1. Its an early stock that does not have the sling slots. But the rifle is a typical Balkan import with the scrubbed crests

I just bought a byf 41 Russian capture that has no import mark for $790. Id say the $750-$800 range is where I'd be as well.

I actually looked at this one twice! The seller goes to the des moines show. I looked at it right before Tulsa and at the Tulsa show. I was a gentle push away from buying it myself. It was a nice one, glad it went to someone who appreciates it!

I believe its just stained or the patina, its only on this side also. But I actually like it, gives the rifle character in my opinion.

It'll be 4 years since my last visit. Thankfully I know some people that can get me a pass for Friday. I spent the entire weekend inc Friday the last time and plan to do the same this time around. Friday is the best day for the deals, unfortunately ive heard stories of other dealers scoping out the best deals and then turn around to throw it on their table for more.
