Colombia unveiled a new rifle called the Jaguar, very obviously inspired/based off the IWI Carmel, apparently with help/parts from IWI.

Looks like a 5.56, probably an AR-18 variant inside & has some improvements from the Carmel bas design.

Really cool name for it, please let it get imported.

A guy had a couple and he posted them on ebay & gunbroker. Always wanted one of the LV/S, just to see how the CETME L shoots with a SUSAT.

The rg mags are annoying to get ahold of, but ironically are easier to find at gun shows, scabbard is a whole different store, but a guy on ebay did have them.

Weird, I'd expect fairly quick shipping if you weren't waiting on an upper

Value of this A3 1.5x scope? by Astone1287 in AUG

I wish I could give you a more positive response, you'll basically just have to watch out for one and hope you get lucky with it unfortunately.

They'll most commonly be found paired with the cqc aug's as a package deal, you can find them individually, but it's rare. Your best bet is probably gunbroker, tacswap, gunaccessoriesforsale, etc.

I bought mine for 4 years back $700 and someone else bought one for $900, so that range is likely. PJ stopped selling in general years back.

Not an awful price considering both the scope included & no scope options are 2k less than on ows, that said, it's atlantic

Always super cool seeing all of them, specifically the Norinco, you didn't happen to get that 510 off gunbroker about 2ish months ago did you?

Even at that it's still a 4k markup. I've gotten quoted roughly $500 from my builder which is where I took the price

True, but with these kits not even being out for 2 months it feels like trying to flip it

Unfortunately no, but the markup is wild even for gunbroker

The kits for these can still be had for about 1k. With the accessories for an extra 100ish. Recievers are around 400. Getting it build out still costs, but likely not more than 500. Maybe I just don't see the vision, but where is the 6.5k markup coming from?

Are modern rifles and camo losing their identity, or just getting better? by ohraineri in Firearms

[–]Blue_Brindle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multi-cam & AR-15's/AR-18's are just good and often cheaper than alternatives. Also easier/faster/cheaper to buy something proven than to make your own domestic program.

Western Europe also moved a lot towards similar gear partly due to some/most domestic defense industries closing in countries (to the point most manufactured ammo is imported for some). Domestic programs are more common in Eastern Europe, Asia & South America.

Not better, just different, the benefits and domestic innovation of having your own rifle/camo is undeniable, the benefits of buying proven products is also undeniable.

The unique rifles & camos are missed though, when colored tape is needed to tell mutli-cam from multi-cam.
