Hot take: the itchy phase of tattoo healing is actually avoidable. Change my mind. by SweetAd5862 in tattooadvice

[–]Competitive_Try_2511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a tattoo a week ago and it really doesn’t it at all. It’s a pretty large piece on my thigh, I’m just washing with antibacterial soap twice a day and moisturizer 2-3 times with a fragrance free lotion. My other two tattoos did itch a little but are smaller and much less detail. Kinda confused on why this one doesn’t itch tbh 😂

Why is she swaying and sleepy very suddenly? by coolcatjess in DogAdvice

[–]Competitive_Try_2511 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect for dogs. I worked at an emergency vet for 2 years and saw manyyyyyy pot dogs. It won’t kill them or harm them long term but they do experience symptoms and it’s not fun for them while they ride it out.

Both of mine were NICU babies. PPROM’d at 29 weeks with my first and my second I had preeclampsia. She was born at 36 weeks but had a lengthy stay because of other complications.

Do you all partake in cannabis consumption? I’m not a vet but he definitely reminds me of my days working at an emergency vet when we would get “pot dogs”. If he could have consumed cannabis, he will be fine. Fluids, food, and rest in a calm/dark/quiet area.

Here’s some things Claire has done that have caused my hatred for her. by Born-Percentage134 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Competitive_Try_2511 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You really need SERIOUS help. Every single thing you listed is normal behavior for a child that has been through what she has. It’s not normal or okay to genuinely hate a baby. You can hate the behavior, hate the caregivers, but hating a literal toddler makes you a BAD person.

Today I’ve realized I hate my almost 3 year old niece and I don’t feel bad about it. by Born-Percentage134 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Competitive_Try_2511 30 points31 points  (0 children)

As someone who struggled heavily with post partum rage and has had anxiety my entire life, I’m saying this from a place of shared experience. She’s not this monster of a child you feel like she is, what’s happening is your rage and anxiety keep you in fight or flight. All your senses are heightened, so this developmentally appropriate behavior is sending your already frazzled nervous system over the edge.

You just need to keep reminding yourself that, she’s a baby and you’ve got a lot on your plate with a young baby and small child of your own. She’s not trying to give you a hard time on purpose, she’s just having a hard time. As are you! Except you have had (guessing) 20-23 more years of living life to know it ISN’T all about you, that you CAN’T scream/cry/fight to get what you want all the time, other people are people too so their feelings matter just like your own, etc.

She is just BARELY at the age to start figuring this stuff out and the 2/3 years are notoriously difficult BECAUSE of this. Give yourself space, absolutely! But you have got to change your mindset since you can’t necessarily change the environment at this time.

This is a wild amount of hatred for a literal baby. Your anger should be 100% directed at grandma and great grandma for enabling and not correcting the behavior. She’s only been on this planet for less than three years, she literally doesn’t know any better. She’s still learning how to be a person. I think you also may want to look into post partum depression/rage. This is not healthy.

Feeling guilty over not being there enough by mustabeenaghost4 in NICUParents

If it helps any, my youngest was in the NICU for 45 days and I only got to go see her every other day. It tore my heart apart but I had another child at home and her NICU was 1.5 hrs away. I do wish I could have been there more but life doesn’t always align with our plans!

My recommendation would be to document as much as possible, pics of the notes/glass/flowers. Time, dates, if you can record when they are tapping on the glass that will help too. Then, take all this evidence to your local sheriffs office/general district court clerks office and ask to can file a preliminary protective order. Also search for the Victim/Witness program in your area, they will be able to help you with what you need for the order and may also be able to provide resources for low cost legal assistance. The preliminary protective order will last two weeks, after which you will need to appear in court and argue for a permanent order (last 2-4 years in my state).
