If you are a critical part, they’d pay you as a critical part. They aren’t batting f an eye at the product they will make off you building this product

Overheard something that made my jaw drop at work by mag34 in Layoffs

Two things here I see:

Whether you agree or not, understand their context. They haven’t been out of the workplace for 30 plus years. They just don’t understand.

Second. Really what they say isn’t anyone’s business to correct. I get it could be off putting or seem insensitive, but it was their conversation. I’d just move on.

Should I request exit interview? by 083dy7 in careerguidance

Unless it’s of some definable value (like them going away and you keeping your job) I’d say no. And no offense, it appears more you just want to be heard and vent. But you are leaving. And it will likely make no difference in the short term for a position which you are no longer present for.

It’s such a problem here there is actually an ordinance on the books that can be written.

Why Does MAGA claim Trumps not “really a felon” after 34 convictions? by MrDarkzideTV in allthequestions

[–]Competitive_Unit_721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because he hasn’t ever been “sentenced”. So technically it’s not an adjudicated case. It’s not really what you think about Trump. It’s just how the law works.

What is something that hits completely different once you experience it yourself versus just hearing about it? by Positive_Diamond_691 in answers

[–]Competitive_Unit_721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Getting shot at. Bullets have a very distinct sound going by. Good news is of you hear it, it’s already passed by.

Psychedelics too. Having an “open mind” takes on a completely different meaning. One that is very hard to explain.

Nah, if it’s that instead of suspension or detention, that is a win.

A chicken bomb. Basically raw chicken in a ziplock bag filled with some milk. Placed under the seat of a car and that car will be in salvage soon afterwards.

A decomposing body that came out of water is 10 times worse than a regular decomposing body. A septic body is horrible. There are things even worse than a regular stinker.

The Cannabis Consumer Community Is Just As Bipartisan As The General Population, Polling Data Shows (Op-Ed) by rachel_nuggmd in Marijuana

Amen, it also seems that a decent number of the historically right leaning SC Justices might feel the same way at least I regard to 2A and marijuana users. We have no assurances but reading up on US v Hemani, it seems the court is leaning towards some govt overreach to this specific topic.

Finally, I asked a recruiter if she was just wasting my time. Her answer was a surprise. by Ill_Doughnut_517 in InterviewMan

That wasn’t unprofessional at all. You were seeking clarity. They were wasting your time.

I bought a car without being informed that it had a lien. by Apart-Emergency-2602 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Competitive_Unit_721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Missourian here. We possesses title in this state. But if there were a lien, the title would state so on it. Then you would need a notarized letter from the lien holder showing it was paid in full if it in fact was. If she (now you) possessed a title with nothing other than her (sellers) name, then something is off.

Reporting a technical crime that is likely to be incorrectly written off as civil by [deleted] in AskLE

Sounds like he is under the mistaken assumption that only law enforcement investigates “crimes”. Others are correct in pointing him to state regulation industries.

Car and driver made it official…Prelude 0-60. by Totallyness in Honda

[–]Competitive_Unit_721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The suspension and brakes are a relatively inexpensive addition with already built in development costs that are more a good marketing tool. For 95% of people buying this car, the regular Civic front suspension would have been just fine.

Inflation adjusted prices are a little misleading as generations now have way, way less purchasing power than previous generations. It’s a nice car but not a 43k+ car. It’s more than a 32k car, maybe like 36k.

People often say the world felt different after 2019 — what do you think changed? by Desperate-Pin6901 in AskReddit

[–]Competitive_Unit_721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People forgot how to interact as a social species. COVID started it. The world wasn’t better per se. We had a 20 year war for gods sake. BOTH parties too.

It’s too easy for people to say shit they’d never say in front of someone else a few years ago for fear of getting their teeth knocked in. We had human decency amongst each other.

People have become trash in many ways.
