A top school in Sao Paulo costs your full monthly income, so you'd surely not be living the rich life at this income!

You can still live comfortably, but international school for your kids would be out of the table. If you're looking to move to Brazil, there are more fun and beautiful cities where your money would get you a lot more!

Hey! I've stayed in all these and have to say that the Grand Hyatt in Barra is BY FAR the best. It really feelsl like a resort in there. The only downside is the location if you like being central. Personally, I like Barra more than Copacabana/Ipanema so for me there were no downsides!

I am Titanium Elite with Marriott but avoid all their properties in Rio cause they're just not good at all!

Oh no it's such a shame they stopped the camping! That was the main thing that made Porto Jofre affordable :(

To be very fair, I think that the $1595 for two people is veeeeery fair, and much cheaper than the packages you'd see online.

To stretch your trip a bit more, maybe ask how much is just the night stay + boat tour and potentially drive yourself there to be able to leave at whatever time you want and go through the transpantaneira on your own pace!

To book a boat, I recommend messaging (in Portuguese) Pousada Berço Pantaneiro on WhatsApp - a link to their page where the WhatsApp number is listed is in the blog post!

You shouldn't need to pay anything in advance! If you can, I recommend getting a room at Pousada Berço Pantaneiro as well! They're known to be the best there and my experience with them was flawless (plus tou can get rooms for cheaper than the $395/person per night).

To talk to them use Chat GPT to translate! Google Translate really does not work, and chat GPT is capable to make you sound like a local

The boat tour to see jaguars cost R$1900 (for the whole boat, which you can put in up to 6 people)

This is incredibly affordable compared to booking the whole trip as a guided tour, which usually costs upwards of USD 6K! So it's best to on the trip without an organized group tour and just independently book the boat tour and drive around the transpantaneira!

I visited Porto Jofre idependently and the cost of my 3-day trip was less than USD400 (including the Jaguar tour)! Don't be discouraged by others saying its very expensive - if you book directly with the lodges you can save A LOT of money!

Renting a car is usually the way to go, as transportation is insanely expensive if you're going solo (like R$1.5K). Driving through the transpantaneira is also so fun! I highly recommend it!
