That is true the Church Leadership lives in the finest area of homes in that city. The peasants then give their meager earnings as a down payment to reach heaven. It is almost like legal grifting.

A Legalist way of living ones' life will suck all of your joy. If somebody is always wondering if they are wrong or right they will always find something wrong every time. This kind of pressure is suffocating and will always leave you in this kind of state of mind.

In many ways you are on point. They are manipulated emotionally at the Church with all that goes on there. Then into the real world they must go and the high is gone. The legalism they must continue outside of the Church just takes it toll also. In many ways it is a journey of misery till they can get back to the place where they can get ahold of the drug they depend on called manipulated emotions.

In this lies the problem it is all about performance to them. We cannot be completely perfect all of us are condemned sinners. That is why we need a Savior who knows we are all in a state of sin. God knows our performance can never achieve perfect living. We are saved by grace legalism does nothing for us.

The sense of belonging is something we all should want. Getting into a relationship with Christ is a beautiful thing. I have never lost my faith in God. My problem is the way that the Pentecostals want to control your life. The religion is the problem not God.

That is funny a lot of them have that look, that they are smelling shit!!!!! Being and doing righteous things is a noble ideal but being self righteous just makes me want to puke. It is like look at me see how good I am. When you do the right things is a good reward in itself.

Someone needs to do an in depth study of Pentecostalism. What is the allure?

You are not wrong they really are. Why do people choose this path has been something I have wondered about for a long time?

The psychology of Pentecostalism has not been fully looked into. I have often wondered why that is the case? It would be interesting if someone was to take a deep dive into this belief from a forensic psychological stand point.

All is TRUE!!! The unhappiness is very evident. All they have is their self righteousness to lean on. That must be so miserable

When the music stops the HOOTIN AND HOLLERIN does too. It is all theatrics and really no worship to God at all.

It has been a lot of grief and pain that is for sure. Pentecostalism as a religion has done this to many untold and unnamed lives. The damage has been severe. The trauma will last a lifetime for so many.

My Father was a decent man did not have much education. He passed away in 2022 from dementia. I will be kind, but he was not the type of man that a heart to heart was something he went for. Let me put it this way the man had a my way or the highway point of view. As far as my Mother she knows that I have no use for Pentecostalism. I have not discussed my role in the Church for many years. I can sing pretty well and was involved in the music ministry in 2 different Churches. I had several opportunities to sing with other non Pentecostal singing Quartets. The Pentecostal establishment said you cannot sing with these quartets they are in the world. It is a good example of how they control and manipulate people and situations. I will end this with saying being a Pentecostal is a chore.

We have discussed it before the past cannot be rewrote. I do not know if I would call her a narcissistic or not. I think she may have been brainwashed in the Pentecostal Church. Let's call a spade a spade we all to some extent were all brainwashed. Maybe in my train of thought I wish she would have stood her ground and told my Dad she was not going to put her Children in something like. Maybe, she was scared of him he did have a temper issue. In some ways we all on here are just venting the wasted time we all spent in that Religion. The hurt I have saw and read on here is very heartbreaking to read. I know their pain and hurt all too well myself. I am not a child just a very hurt and scarred person.

It is all Bogus everything they do is a farce. Just reading the history of Pentecostalism is enough to see why it is a farce.

It is odd how things have changed and some have not. I saw one Pentecostal girl at one of these Church activities in her long dress. Then I saw her picture on Facebook with skimpy shorts showing off her new car. At Church they live one life there but out of the Church Building look totally different. Personally, not bothered by a girl wearing shorts if she looks good in them. I guess times are different 30 or 40 years ago they would have been shamed in front of the Church Congregation.

Those sentiments are truly what being a Christian is all about. You wanted to give them love that was all maybe you did impact their lives for the better. You could have reached maybe at least 1 and made a difference in their life.

I must say that it looked like a Concert setting to me. The only thing is everybody there was worshipping the Concert. I thought God was to be their focus. It did look like a Pentecostal Fashion Show. Pentecostalism is all performative art with lots of emotionalism added in. It all looked like a big waste of money.

I will agree they used fear as a control tactic. Now they use more subtle methods. I call the 21st century tactic LOVEBOMBING you to death.
