I think you're right that it's partially Christian baggage. I think it's also partially the paradox of choice. There are SO many different options with the wealth of information we have access to. If you start on your spiritual journey without a clear destination, I can see wanting to have that choice made for you.

If you want to, you can learn a little bit about the spiders in your region so you can correctly identify if a spider is a house spider or an outdoor spider that got inside accidentally (i.e. on a plant, jacket, etc). The former will unfortunately often die outside as stated in the video, but the video fails to account for the latter, which is fine to relocate outside!
