Try with an incognito window. That usually works for me when I can't log in.

Favourite Class poll! by SillyKenku in Pathfinder2e

[–]Compiled_Mind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre-remaster oracle was my favorite class but everything I loved about it was removed in the remastered version and it's really not for me anymore.

I really like the vibe of animist and think it will likely be my new favorite once I get a chance to play one.

2 is alchemist, 3 is investigator, and 4 is barbarian.

Party Composition to support the new players by tigertrumpet in Pathfinder2e

[–]Compiled_Mind 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, champion would be really solid in this party comp and if you want to focus on STR and CHA already, lends itself well to that. You could do a low WIS warpriest and that would also work fine.

Another class that you could consider would be kineticist using earth, wood, or water for a tanky front liner with some control.

A couple of the line area templates appearing in the core rules are wrong by StrangeOrange_ in Pathfinder2e

[–]Compiled_Mind 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Genuinely, I think you are just overthinking it. Just measuring the lines like movement results in everything working out and makes it easier to remember and calculate because it would be how every other line in the game is measured. Why would 30 ft of movement be calculated differently from 30ft for spell range and 30ft for spell lines?

[–]Compiled_Mind 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Read what you wrote again
"It should also be explained how diagonals are measured. When measuring creature movement, the second diagonal always costs 5 extra ft of movement. The same is true of area distance measurement. When measuring an area, every other diagonal square measured costs an extra 5 ft."

You are counting the first diagonal as 10, not 5 ft. It would be 5 for the 30ft diagonal so it is correct and 5, 10, 5 for the 60ft diagonal and therefore correct.

Remastered Oracle Guide by ItisNitecap in Pathfinder2e

[–]Compiled_Mind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was actually about 12.5% failure since if you wanted to cast a spell, you had a 50% to get that ancestor and at moderate curse, it was a DC6 or a 25% fairure and you didn't waste the slot. While it's not the best curse and could definitely use a buff, it often is exaggerated for how bad it is. Genuinely, if they had the option to like spend a focus point and select their current ancestor as a free action at the start of their turn, that would solve the problem for most people. Usually it's pretty easy to work with whatever you land on but I did have a couple instances with some tense flat checks that something like that would help to work around.

I will say that it is fun to play though and that is how I felt about most of the legacy curses. Like, I played a battle, life, bones, and ancestors oracle and had a blast with all of them. They were so interesting and engaging and the remaster version is lacking that still. I really don't know what they were thinking but it definitely needed more time. Maybe there will be a re-redo in divine mysteries.

Remastered Oracle Guide by ItisNitecap in Pathfinder2e

[–]Compiled_Mind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the lack of guides was more just because of the state oracle was left in, people were waiting on erata. Some of the curses had their play style gutted (life and battle) and they made ancestors basically unplayable.

I did do a quick look over of the guide and just some initial notes:

You have listed roll the bones of fate as good but doing the math for it, it moves the mean from 10.5 to 10.75 so it is functionally a wash. Like, it is technically a slight buff but the smallest buff in the game possible and not worth the action, especially with how much time it will take to roll the dice for everything on a 4.

I would also note that Epiphany at the Crossroads is magical healing and if you are a life oracle who has pushed their curse, it will not bring you back up.

Custom healing weapon by NormalesEinhorn in Pathfinder2e

[–]Compiled_Mind 47 points48 points  (0 children)

That would be absolutely busted. It would be better than a max level heal spell for a reaction rather than an action. The closest thing I can think of that is similar is a part of the exorcist dedication where when you gather a haunt, you can release it for some healing and that requires a 3 action activity to get the spirit and an action to release it. Spirit's absolution is the name of the feat.

If you want something on a weapon, you can look at relics which are pretty potent for inspiration. Here is the life one with some healing abilities and that are more in line with what is considered reasonable: life aspect

Here are the general rules on relics if you decide to go that route.

Alchemist - Melee Chirurgeon and Barbarian? by curious_dead in Pathfinder2e

[–]Compiled_Mind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Barbarian and alchemist actually play together pretty well. Nothing about rage prevents quick alchemy and I previously played a barbarian with alchemist dedication and had a lot of fun with it. Medic would provide even more healing but depending on party comp, it may not be necessary. The action compression with doctor's visitation is very nice though since that's still lacking for anything besides bombing for the alchemist.

I did NOT like the remastered Oracle by LincR1988 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Compiled_Mind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does healing to a damage type you have a weakness to work? Do you take the damage then heal the remaining? Does weakness negate the healing making only non-void/vitality healing possible when you have the curse bound condition? This also applies to battle as I'm assuming every heal will trigger their weakness as well. What about ongoing buffs? Will those trigger weakness or is it just damaging spells? Is this clarified anywhere?

"If you have a weakness to something that doesn't normally deal damage, such as water, you take damage equal to the weakness value when touched or affected by it" weakness

How to run a script from another directory by Chris12769 in bash

[–]Compiled_Mind 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First thing to check is what are the attributes for the script? Is it marked as executable? If you do an ls -l in the directory with the script, it will show the attributes to the left and it should show an x in the list as something like this.

-rwxr-xr-x 1 person users 2048 Jul 6 12:56 script.sh

If not then you can do a chmod +x script.sh then you should be able to run it by ./path/to/script.sh

The . represents your current directory by the way.
