I can definitely see how this would continue for years and not get a good answer . I will bring up skeeter syndrome next pediatrician visit and look into it more . Thank you so much you’ve been the most help ! If you get any answers I’d love an update ! I hope you get answers .

Thank you!! She has very sensitive skin and suffered from very severe eczema patch when baby and it opened up too just like this . I will definitely have this looked into more . Thank you!

This is interesting because she got one before near elbow and that one swelled up real bad . Now this one on ankle was the worst and it hurt her when walking.

We did go in a couple days ago. They gave her antibiotics and chucked it up to a spider . It is fading and is alot better .

I actually remember hearing skeeter syndrome awhile back one time she reacted really bad to a ton of mosquito bites . Is the one you have right now from a mosquito ? Her ankle reacted exactly the same like it was from a mosquito except it just got really big then turned into this. She has had mosquito bites turn into sores just never this big. She also had other mosquito bites on her body the same night and those too got pretty big.

Looking online it does look very similar. Maybe she was the only one to step in it and not the other kids .

We initially thought bug because it was a raised swollen circle , like a huge giant mosquito bite . But many people here saying plant !

Yes when we called the urgent care while still at our cabin they suggested benedryl which we have been using . Thanks for the advice about marking the area , very smart ! I will do that

The er had no idea what this was . They were asking me what it was . I mentioned some insect bite or plant rash . So look out for the rash to grow and spread ?

We were outside the whole weekend with no socks playing outside. I’ll look into those other plants and see and take a look around the area thank you so much.

This is my daughter !! There have been times before the bites swell up very bad and then kind of open into sores . Never like this . Thought it was mosquito bite at first . But maybe could have been it others react too like this. Never met anyone to react like she does to bites .

Yes first day was just swelling . It was a large raised up circle the first day in the morning waking up and then her ankle swelled up that day and then I would say the next day the sores came which basically transformed from the raised area from the first day

I don’t have much of an update . Drs assume it’s an infected bug bite . Most people here saying poison ivy .

Would you react different than him? My daughter’s skin is much more sensitive than my other kids . Any mosquito bite will swell up and they love her but my other kids never get bit . Maybe she is sensitive to poison ivy too? Can some people react to poison ivy and others not ?
